YOU NEVER FORGET YOUR FIRST - JR Motorsports’ first company victory came in Nationwide Series competition at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 1, 2008, with Mark Martin. Martin qualified 17th and led 12 laps en route to his 48th career victory. SWEET ARRIVAL - Brad Sweet makes his JR Motorsports and Las Vegas Motor Speedway debut in the No. 5 Great Clips Chevrolet Camaro this weekend. The Grass Valley, Calif. native’s last NNS race came in the 2012 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway where he finished 17th. Sweet is scheduled for action in 17 events this year, continuing consecutively through the Auto Club Speedway event in two weeks. Kasey Kahne will resume driving duties of the Great Clips machine at Texas Motor Speedway. NEW COLORS FOR THE REGAN SMITH IN THE 7 - Smith’s No. 7 Chevrolet Camaro will feature a new partnership with Fire Alarm Services on board this weekend in Las Vegas. Based in Denver, Fire Alarm’s objective is to provide its customers with one service for all of their fire alarm, electrical, security, and fire suppression needs. As a result of its focus, Fire Alarm has been rewarded with loyal working relationships that continue to grow throughout Denver and the surrounding areas. Visit its website for more information at http://www.fasonline.cc/ POINTS JUMPER - On the cusp of an 11th-place finish at Phoenix last weekend, Smith jumped six positions in the NNS championship point standings. He is currently tied for fifth with Parker Kligerman, trailing leader Sam Hornish by 14 points. EARNHARDT JR.’S 2013 NNS SCHEDULE - Earnhardt Jr. returns to NNS competition for the first time since finishing fourth in the season-opener at Daytona International Speedway. His next scheduled NNS start will come at Texas Motor Speedway on April 12. SIN CITY SUCCESS - Earnhardt Jr. owns three career NNS starts at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and has never finished worse than sixth. During his full-time, championship-winning seasons in 1998 and 1999, Earnhardt Jr. finished second and sixth, respectively. He didn’t race again at LVMS until it 2009 when he finished fifth on the freshly configured track. Despite his string of good finishes, he has yet to lead a lap in an NNS race at Las Vegas. VEGAS ROLLER - Counting both Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series events, Earnhardt Jr. has competed in a total of 16 races at Las Vegas and has finished a career-best 2nd on three separate occasions (twice in Cup). He has done quite well since the track was revamped in 2006, which featured a substantial increase in banking from 12 to 20 degrees. Since then, he has five top-10s in seven total races. DALE JR. DOUBLES DOWN AT TEXAS: JR Motorsports and Texas Motor Speedway have partnered to offer fans an $88 ticket special to see Dale Jr. compete in both the NASCAR Nationwide Series and Sprint Cup Series races at the Fort Worth, Tex. track April 12-13. The offer includes one frontstretch ticket to both events. Click here or call 817-215-8500 for more in-formation. LISTENING EXPERIENCE ON THE AXIS OF JUNIOR: From the communications team at JR Motorsports comes a new way for Dale Jr. fans to get their Junior fix. Dirty Mo Radio is the new online hub for Junior-related podcasts, keeping Junior Nation informed and entertained each week throughout the season. Dirty Mo Radio is housed at DaleJr.com and is also available free of charge on all popular podcasting outlets. DMR’s start-up show, “The Dale Jr. Download”, debuted as the No. 2 ranked sports podcast and No. 30 overall podcast on iTunes the day after its Feb. 18 launch. BRAD SWEET, #5 GREAT CLIPS CHEVROLET: “It’s been a good learning experience for me to sit back and watch Kasey (Kahne) in the car at Daytona and Jimmie (Johnson) last week. But I’m truly excited to drive the Great Clips Chevy this week. They’ve been a big supporter of mine, and I’m thrilled to start this new chapter with JR Motorsports. I’ve spent a lot of time with the JRM guys and gotten to know Bummy (crew chief Mike Bumgarner) pretty well. We had a test last month that helped us get in sync. Personally, I think there is a lot to be excited about heading into this weekend.” REGAN SMITH, #7 FIRE ALARM SERVICES CHEVROLET: “Vegas is an amazing location for a NASCAR race. The first thing you notice is the number of fans that attend and their level of excitement. It’s contagious. As far as the track goes, it’s fast. It’s the first mile-and-a-half of the season, and you really get that sensation of speed there. “I’m not a big gambler, but I do enjoy going to Vegas. I don’t know that I’ve ever walked out of a casino with more money than I arrived with. I think the biggest thing for me is that there are so many good restaurants to pick from. I mean it’s Vegas, what’s not to like?” DALE EARNHARDT, JR., #88 TAXSLAYER.COM CHEVROLET: “Looking forward to the weekend. I did what a lot of people in the industry do and went straight to Vegas from Phoenix because I have appearances for Diet Mountain Dew and Amp Energy starting Wednesday. It didn’t make much sense to go home. “Just like we did at Daytona, I’m reppin’ TaxSlayer.com this week in the Nationwide car. It’s a big deal for them because it’s tax season and everybody’s got to do their taxes. You’ll get in trouble if you don’t, and nobody wants that (laughing). So we’ll do our best this weekend to remind you to file your taxes with TaxSlayer.com and try to get a good finish at the same time.”
