BRAD SWEET, #5 GREAT CLIPS CHEVROLET: “It’s been a good learning experience for me to sit back and watch Kasey (Kahne) in the car at Daytona and Jimmie (Johnson) last week. But I’m truly excited to drive the Great Clips Chevy this week. They’ve been a big supporter of mine, and I’m thrilled to start this new chapter with JR Motorsports. I’ve spent a lot of time with the JRM guys and gotten to know Bummy (crew chief Mike Bumgarner) pretty well. We had a test last month that helped us get in sync. Personally, I think there is a lot to be excited about heading into this weekend.”
REGAN SMITH, #7 FIRE ALARM SERVICES CHEVROLET: “Vegas is an amazing location for a NASCAR race. The first thing you notice is the number of fans that attend and their level of excitement. It’s contagious. As far as the track goes, it’s fast. It’s the first mile-and-a-half of the season, and you really get that sensation of speed there. “I’m not a big gambler, but I do enjoy going to Vegas. I don’t know that I’ve ever walked out of a casino with more money than I arrived with. I think the biggest thing for me is that there are so many good restaurants to pick from. I mean it’s Vegas, what’s not to like?”
DALE EARNHARDT, JR., #88 TAXSLAYER.COM CHEVROLET: “Looking forward to the weekend. I did what a lot of people in the industry do and went straight to Vegas from Phoenix because I have appearances for Diet Mountain Dew and Amp Energy starting Wednesday. It didn’t make much sense to go home.
“Just like we did at Daytona, I’m reppin’ TaxSlayer.com this week in the Nationwide car. It’s a big deal for them because it’s tax season and everybody’s got to do their taxes. You’ll get in trouble if you don’t, and nobody wants that (laughing). So we’ll do our best this weekend to remind you to file your taxes with TaxSlayer.com and try to get a good finish at the same time.”
