Kyle Busch finished inside the top-five for the first time of the 2013 season last week in Las Vegas; that momentum has seemingly carried into one of his best race tracks — Bristol Motor Speedway.
Friday in Coors Light Pole Qualifying, Busch recorded a lap of 129.535 mph. He completed his lap in 14.813 seconds around the 0.533-mile short track. His lap edged out Kasey Kahne, and it marks the 11th pole of Busch’s Sprint Cup Series career.
With 44 cars taking a lap in qualifying that meant one driver would be heading home early. Unfortunately for Scott Riggs, his lap wasn’t quite quick-enough and his No. 44 Ford will not compete on Sunday.
