Every year in late April across the United States, signs of spring begin to appear all around. Flowers and trees start to come into bloom, the grass begins to grow, the weather becomes warmer – and, of course, Kyle Busch posts a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series win at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway. The driver of the No. 18 M&M’s Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) returns to Richmond for Saturday night’s Sprint Cup Series Toyota Owners 400 looking for his fifth consecutive spring event win at the .75-mile oval. Last April, the Las Vegas native brought home his fourth straight spring victory at Richmond to go with four runner-up finishes and an amazing 12 top-fives in just 16 career Sprint Cup starts in Virginia’s capital city. Busch’s average finishing position of just 5.4 is tops among all active drivers at Richmond, including JGR teammate Denny Hamlin, whose average finish there is 8.1. Busch has completed all but one of the 6,410 laps available to him in his 16 career Richmond s...

OPINION: Is Kyle Busch Destroying the Nationwide Series?

Photo Credit: Chris Graythen/Getty Images Written By: Katie Copple The youngest Busch brother has won four of the six Nationwide Series races this season, a second place finish and one finish outside of the top 30. Every race he runs he seems to dominate the competition, pretty much excluding all other drivers from a possible win. He isn’t running for the Championship, he is just...

Johnson already owns the standings

Can anyone stop Jimmie Johnson? After Kyle Busch crashed at Kansas Speedway - not once, but twice during the NASCAR Sprint Cup race on Sunday - he wrecked his position in the points standings as well. Busch trailed points leader Johnson by 18 entering Sunday's STP 400. With his early exit and 38th-place finish, coupled with Johnson's third-place finish, a 54-point deficit...

The Kansas curse

When it comes to Kansas Speedway, Kyle Busch is willing to believe in jinxes. Whether driving on old pavement or new, Busch hasn't been able to get the hang of the 1.5-mile track. In 12 starts at Kansas, including Sunday's STP 400, Busch has more finishes outside the top 30 (four) than inside the top 10 (two). On Sunday, it was more of the same. Busch qualified fifth—in...
