This Sunday’s Camping World RV Sales 301 (1 p.m. EDT TNT, Performance Racing Network Radio, SIRIUSXM Radio), will most likely be Denny Hamlin's final shot at making NASCAR's Chase for the Sprint Cup.
Hamlin currently sits 26th in the Sprint Cup Series point standings, and a whopping 122-points out of the all-important Top-20 - which is a must for one of NASCAR's Wild Card spots. If he doesn't make major gains over the next few weeks, his shot at a Sprint Cup title in 2013 will certainly be over.
In addition to the average performance the Joe Gibbs Racing driver's team has shown on the racetrack, Hamlin was injured earlier in the season and was forced to the sidelines. Substitute drivers took over his seat in the #11 Federal Express Toyota Camry while Hamlin watched in agony. The Virginia native quickly fell back in the point standings, and now finds himself in a huge hole with little chance of making the Chase.
