Danica Patrick says the new CEO of Go Daddy, the company that backs her NASCAR Sprint Cup effort, likes racing - and that's a good thing.
Patrick has a lengthy relationship with the company, carrying its GoDaddy.com sponsorship in her IndyCar and NASCAR racing careers. Blake Irving recently took over the company and, as with any group, a change in leadership can lead to questions about where things are heading.
Patrick, who is in her first full season of Sprint Cup competition with Stewart-Haas Racing, has already met with Irving.
She said the first time she met him, she planned to "just say hello and I spend 45 minutes in his office."
She said that he has "big plans" for the company.
"He's very good at what he does and he has the power to make what he wants to happen, happen because he has a lot of good people that he's worked with over the years with the other companies that he has worked with," she said.
