Team: No. 6 Ford EcoBoost Mustang Crew Chief: Mike Kelley Chassis: RK-763 Bayne at Chicagoland Speedway: o This weekend Trevor Bayne returns to Chicagoland Speedway after more than a year since running a NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) race at the track. During his 2011 NNS starts Bayne rallied from a 31st-place start to finish third in June. That September, he finished 11th. o Bayne is one of the best passers at Chicagoland. He is the fifth strongest, averaging 39 “quality” passes per race (passing a car running in the top-15 while under a green flag). The Car: Chassis RK-763 was used in both Charlotte and Fontana this season. In Charlotte, Bayne finished sixth; the first in a string of strong finishes that built momentum for the No. 6 team. In Fontana, Bayne chalked up a top-10 finish with RK-763 by coming in ninth. Recapping Loudon: o With five laps to go Bayne was in 15th, but a smart pit-stop strategy earlier in the race and a string of attempts at a green-white-checkered finish helped him weave his way toward the top of the pack in his Cargill Ford Mustang. By the time the checkered flag finally fell at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Bayne was sitting solid in sixth-place. Bayne on Racing in Chicago: “I ran with the Wood Brothers at Chicagoland last year, but it’s been a while since I’ve been there for a Nationwide race. I’m excited to get back, especially since we know we have a really fast car that has two top-10 finishes this year.” -Roush Fenway Racing PR
