Kobe Bryant shrugged off a scoreless first half to finish with 20 points, eight assists and seven rebounds Friday night as the Los Angeles Lakers overcame a 20-point second-half deficit and beat the Charlotte Bobcats, 100-93. The Lakers avoided a costly defeat to the NBA's worst team and pulled within three games of .500. Bryant attempted only two shots in the first half and didn't bother coming out for warmups to start the second half. But he provided the jolt the Lakers needed in the third quarter and scored 14 points in the final period, including a driving layup with 40 seconds left to push the lead to five. Steve Nash and Earl Clark each had 17 points and Dwight Howard had 12 points, all in the first half, and 11 rebounds for the Lakers (24-27). Byron Mullens and Gerald Henderson each had 20 points for the Bobcats, who have lost six straight.

Kobe Bryant plays Beethoven in Miami

The Lakers pulled it out in Charlotte on Friday night to bounce back from the beatdown that the Celtics gave them – must be something going on that says LA teams had to suffer an embarrassing nationally televised drubbing because that’s also what happened to the Clippers in Miami on Friday night. Kobe decided when he got to Miami that he wanted to show you that his skills on...

LeBron knows Kobe is same old scorer

MIAMI A new Kobe Bryant supposedly has emerged in recent weeks for the Los Angeles Lakers. But not for LeBron James. He believes hes the same old Kobe. James, the Miami Heat star, couldn't care less that the Lakers star recently had a run of 39 assists in three games and 56 over five. Hes doesnt buy that Bryant all of a sudden has become a facilitator. Do I buy that? No,...

Kobe: I'm done voicing opinions about Dwight

MIAMI -- The dust certainly didn't settle after the Lakers eked out a win against the lowly Charlotte Bobcats, not when Dwight Howard's father injected himself into his son's awkward relationship with Kobe Bryant. Kobe Bryant Says Dwight Howard is Sensitive & Needs to Play Through Pain

One of the things that made Michael Jordan so great is he had a burning desire to be great. It was almost like an obsession. His competitive nature was legendary and something that not many could live up to. Kobe Bryant shares this type of obsession, he wants Dwight Howard to have it as well, but Dwight isn’t wired that way. He’s wired in a more clownish way. With that being...

Dwight Howard’s dad says Kobe Bryant & Mike D’Antoni are handling his son wrong

The spotlight’s glare can be a bit harsh in LA. it takes a different sort of individual to be able to flow and not let it wreak havoc in one’s mental. Kobe Bryant Says Bill Belichick Encouraged Him After Finals Loss, Hopes Rob Gronkowski Comes Out for Celtics-Lakers

Kobe Bryant is clear about this: He does not like the Celtics, and he never wants to wear green. But that doesn’t mean he won’t get caught fraternizing with the enemy. Bryant showed an affinity for Boston sports in an interview with ESPN’s Jackie MacMullan before the Lakers got ready to play the Celtics on Thursday night. He shared the distaste he had for the Celtics when he...

Lakers Unable to Close Against Heat

Photo courtesy of Mike Ehrmann, Getty Images Here’s a line you haven’t read this season: The Lakers could have won it. Okay fine, we’ve actually said that before…a lot, because goodness knows the Lakers have come close to winning a lot of games this past season but have always found a way to falter in the end. If we re-watch those 28 losses, I guarantee at least half of them...

How Kobe Bryant & Bill Belichick ended up Friends

Just going off of personalities, it would be easy to conclude that Lakers guard Kobe Bryant and New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick would have little in-common. Bryant has never been known to hold his tongue  and Belichick is notoriously known for never having much to say. No way the two could ever end [...]
