5 Players Who Shouldnt Be Taking Stephon Marbury's Spot
I am one of the few Marbury Supporters for many reasons. He can still play, he is far better than the guards the knicks have out their disregarding Crawford and Nate, and I feel the team would be better when he is playing. As funny as that maybe, just the past game D'Antoni decided to put Marbury on the inactive list for the foreseeable future. Basically you can say whatever you want with that statement...Marbury could be traded, released or just maxn relaxn waiting for a Knick guard to get injured....This "we are doing it for the future" is such BS excuse that coaches should be fined for saying that...What future do the Knicks have, no one plays defense... At least with Marbury he can punish everyone elses defense with his runningback style of offense barreling through the lane with those uncanny football carry layups..He actually plays defense as a matter of fact, the problem is his big mans Curry n Randolph are the worst Defensive PF-C that has ever played the game of basketball. He is a far better shooter than Duhon and Collins. ...mardy collins air balls more shots in one night than he makes shots in a whole year...Roberson is a dud, Richardson is another D Antoni favorite as is Gallinari which never leads to success. Duhon is a backup at best... Couple Recent Marburyisms---> (NEWSDAY the 29th of OCtober)--->Pro Obama Marbury, who donated the individual maximum of $2,300 to Obama's campaign in June 2007, said he's not looking for a tax break from the next president, even though his 2008-09 salary of $20.8 million puts him in an income bracket the rest of us can only dream about. In fact, Marbury told Newsday on Monday that he's more than willing to pay his share and even endorsed what he called Obama's plan to "spread the wealth. "I think that it's going to help," Marbury said. "By him trying to create change and by him trying to spread the wealth as opposed to the rich getting rich and the poor staying poor, he's trying to make it diverse and I believe in that. "I pay taxes just like everybody else - half of my money goes to taxes - and I feel like it should go to the people who need it. Me coming from where I come from, I'm aware of the situation that people are in right now, coming from Coney Island and the projects. Me having what I have is a blessing." -------------------------------------------------------3-------------------------------------------------------------------3---------------------------------- November 1st 2008--->(http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/01/sports/basketball/01knicks.html?ref=sports) Notable QUotes: Marbury left the bench to huddle in timeouts and slapped the hands of teammates who departed the game. He reiterated his statements that he wanted to remain in New York and help the team win a championship, no matter how far off that might be. "I'm not frustrated at all," Marbury said. "I have no control over it. If it was raining outside, I can't get mad if it's raining. I've got to go get an umbrella and then walk in the rain. I have no control over the situation. The coach makes the decision on who plays and who's not going to play, and, obviously, right now he feels like I'm not one of the guys that's going to be playing." Other questions elicited a simpler response. Is it O.K. with you? "Coach's decision," Marbury said. Would you rather sit in clothes than a jersey? "Coach's decision," Marbury said. Did you want the chance to talk to D'Antoni about the decision? "Coach's decision," Marbury said. For all the predictable responses those questions returned, when asked if he wanted to play somewhere else, Marbury took a moment to size up the question, then offered another simple, yet different answer. "Next question," he said. --------3-----------------------------------3----------------------------------------3-------------------------------------------------3----------------------------- Give him a break (dad died last yr) at least or a chance to prove himself and make up for whatever mistakes he supposedly has..Duhon as a starter O please!!..if the knicks management dont respect his passion for the game which we all know he does, let him go to a better team. I hope he goes to the celtics or lakers and make the knicks look even worse as a franchise....

    Anthony Roberson

D'Antoni says he's a eddie house...Eddie can shoot, thats about it...Dont say hustle just because he made a couple good plays against the backup lakers players last year doesnt mean he hustles.....Roberson is a charlatan...somehow did good in preseason, will be horrendous in the season....Why is this kid getting minutes over Marbury..took Patrick Ewings Jr spot as well...TIME TAKEN AWY FROM MARBURY= ~10 minutes a game

  • 2
    Mardy Collins

Is he somehow related to the Collins Brothers (Jason and Jarron)? They all suck.. Offensively horrendous and defensively way too slow....TIME TAKEN AWAY FROM MARBURY= 15 minutes a game

  • 3
    Malik Rose

Like G W. Bush his time is up....he plays dirty and takes horrendous shots. TIME TAKEN AWAY FROM MARBURY= ~10 minutes a game

  • 4
    Quentin Richardson

they said he lost 30 pounds this offseason....did politicians say that because that is such a lie...still slow, bricking shots and taking stupid shots....Wilson Chandler is way better than this bum...TIME TAKEN AWAY FROM MARBURY= 20 + minutes

  • 5
    Danilo Gallinari

He didnt even play in the preseason. He was run over by the Tractor Traylor in the Summer League. During the past couple of games hes so clueless out their....taking the craziest shots out their bricking them...D'Antoni needs to stop with the favoritism approach and future approach...TIME TAKEN AWAY FROM MARBURY= ~10 minutes

As a Knicks Fan I think D'Antoni is making a Bold statement and Hey if it stirs up the Pot with Marbury and the Fans,so be it...Don't get Me wrong Stephon is still capable of running a team it's just that D'Antoni and others see differently..

step is underrated as a player! thats for sure. he is still one of thee best guards in the nba todate. if there not going to use him then trade. i think he's just wants to play for a team that will allow him to be him self.

Top 3 point guards in the league? You joking?

Booker - haven't you learned anything from the G-Men? TEAM. Steph doesn't know what it's like to play on a team. That's why he's never won and never will until he changes his attitude. After what he was a part of the last few years he doesn't deserve a spot on the Knicks.

Jerome James filled the spot for Eddy Curry this past game making Marbury inactive yet again, Jerome James come on D'Antoni's excuse is BS........Duhon was a nonfactor as usual and Roberson was a brick layer, Malik Rose was a clown, Somehow Quenting Richardson had 28, Gallinari didnt play, and Mardy Collin missed every shot he took....Besides Q Rich somehow having a good game, all these dudes played dead and pathetic....this is going to be a long losing season if d'antoni stops being a baby and talking about the future, there iis no future with mardy collins duhon and roberson as guards lets be serious here.....

marbury could equal the plaxico burress of this yr, well actually tiki barber lol, if things dont bode the way marbury fans want it to, as a champion at the end, so be it....he was a character and fun to watch....HIs attitude probably changed, who knows after his died new aspect on life.....just a guess, but if not he is a far better floor general than duhon and mardy collins..........well see what the knicks do, most likely get rid of him which would be so gay......
