The Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers expected to have their franchise players back by now. Their ongoing absences appear to have caught up to both teams. While it remains unclear if or when Derrick Rose and Andrew Bynum will return this season, the Bulls are tumbling down the playoff standings and the visiting 76ers may be ruining their postseason hopes altogether going into this meeting Thursday night. A rematch of these teams' 2012 first-round playoff series - one in which Rose tore his ACL - almost certainly won't happen. Philadelphia (22-33) has fallen well behind eighth-place Milwaukee for the Eastern Conference's final playoff spot, and Chicago (32-25) has plummeted to sixth after entering this month at No. 3 and leading the Central Division. That lead is gone as the Bulls have gone 4-8 in February to drop four games back of Indiana in the Central, not to mention 10 behind East-leading Miami after being within two earlier this month. "We have to find a...

Think D-Rose is ready to get back in the fold? Rose was shown throwing down a two handed dunk during Sunday’s pregame of the Chicago Bulls-Oklahoma City Thunder game. Rose is attempting to return from an ACL tear, and the Bulls could use his talent as they currently sit in 5th in the Eastern Conference. Will make the East a whole lot more interesting once the 2011 NBA MVP is back...

Apparently suffering from a degenerative knee condition, Andrew Bynum must be fired by the 76ers and removed from ‘The City of Brotherly Love’

Proving the crabby, and shady, center will never fully return to health, a source allegedly told ESPN’s Skip Bayless that Andrew Bynum recently underwent an MRI that revealed the worthless Philadelphia 76ers employee has a degenerative knee condition. The 7-foot, 285 pound Bynum, who the Los Angeles Lakers took as a 17-year-old out of St. Joseph High School in New Jersey with the...

Andrew Bynum No-Shows for Press Conference, Leaves Arena Immediately After The Game

I am not exactly sure what the Philadelphia media is expecting Bynum to say at these press conferences or maybe they just want to check out what his hairstyle will be, but whatever the case Bynum wasn’t in the mood to talk last night. Andrew Bynum was expected to speak with the media to provide an update about his rehab and conditioning prior to the Philadelphia 76ers’ game Tuesday...

Derrick Rose’s Health, Celtics’ Newfound Stability Among Biggest Factors Impacting Eastern Conference Race (Podcast)

Derrick Rose is on the comeback trail, and he can’t return fast enough as far as the Chicago Bulls are concerned. Despite competing as a top team in the Eastern Conference through the early part of the season, Tom Thibodeau‘s squad has fallen on hard times as of late and it’s obvious to see how much the team misses its All-Star point guard. While Rose has stated that he won’t...

Andrew Bynum Doesn’t Think He’ll Play This Year, Won’t Play In Pain

Philadelphia 76ers fans are outraged, and you really can’t blame them.  Today after practice Andrew Bynum essentially explained to the media what everyone already knew, that he probably would not play a game this season for the Sixers. Bynum has been getting ripped since this afternoon when he made the announcement in a manner that can only be categorized as smug, and without...

Bynum:" I don't really know if I can play this season"

The Sixers are coming off an impressive postseason last year, and with the trade for Andrew Bynum and the emergence of Jrue Holiday, things were looking up. First it started out with Bynum missing some time. Then it was some more time. Then it was possibly before the All-Star break. Then it was after the All-Star break. Now, he may not even play. In Philadelphia, when Bynum isn&...

Westbrook: Rose 'Getting Better, Almost Close To Coming Back'

Derrick Rose was shown dunking in stride during ESPN's broadcast of the Oklahoma City Thunder's blowout win over the Bulls on Sunday.

Andrew Bynum admits he may not play this season, doesn’t want to play in pain

In listening to Philadelphia 76ers coach Doug Collins’ rant earlier this week, it was easy to get the impression that he is not holding out hope that Andrew Bynum will be able to play his first game as a Sixer this season. Bynum and his insane hair recently told reporters that he is positive he will play this year, but there are only 26 games remaining on Philly’s schedule. On...

As Nikola Vucevic Shines for Magic, Andrew Bynum Trade Can Officially Be Labeled Gigantic Loss for 76ers

Doug Collins is asking the wrong questions. The Sixers coach bared his soul following his team’s unsightly loss to the Magic on Tuesday, grasping at ways to transfer his own heart as a player — “I ran through my sneakers” — to the inconsistent bunch he now leads. By Collins’ account, he has even gone to team executives Rod Thorn and Tony DiLeo to ask for advice on how...

Bo Jackson Tells Derrick Rose, Don’t Try To Be Superman

Bo Jackson is one of the greatest athletes of our time.  Famous for his “Bo Knows” commercials, one thing Jackson knows is what it takes to return from severe injury. Jackson made an amazing comeback in 1993 from  hip-replacement surgery, after being hurt with the Oakland Raiders.  Jackson says he doesn’t watch much sports these days, but is aware of Derrick Rose and his...

Howard/Bynum Trade Showing True Colors

It’s the last day of February, post trade deadline, and with roughly 25 games remaining in the regular season it has become plain to see that neither the LA Lakers or the Philadelphia 76ers have benefitted from what was, by far, the biggest trade of the year. Who would’ve thought that at this point the Lakers would be two games below .500 and 2.5 games back of the eighth playoff...
