Found June 29, 2012 on Pro Sports Daily:
The Philadelphia 76ers wanted a big man. They got one, along with a young combo forward who team president Rod Thorn claimed was the brain trust's unanimous choice at No. 15. Selecting St. John's forward Moe Harkless was a surprise, considering the team's need for a big man and the depth of quality power forward/centers. Then they got Arnett Moultrie, a solid center/power forward from Mississippi State by acquiring the 27th pick from the luxury tax-paying Miami Heat for No. 45 and a future first-rounder that's protected through the lottery for "a number of years," according to Thorn. The Sixers are hoping Harkless and Moultrie will both crack coach Doug Collins' rotation as rookies, but they won't know if that's realistic until they get through training camp and the preseason. "We think we've added two players who could be very good for us and significant assets to our team," Thorn said. Thorn claimed the Sixers had Harkles...

The 76ers take Moe Harkless Grade C+

The 76ers have three picks in this year’s draft and they need to draft big. With Spencer Hawes being an free agent the only true center on their roster is Nikola Vucevic. Power forward Elton Brand is on the down side and Lavoy Allen is still coming into his own. While I think the 76ers should have taken Tyler Zeller here I like the pick of Harkless. The picks reallys...

Spencer Hawes Twitter outburst–not politically correct, but politically, he’s correct

From Geno Ball Fallout from Spencer Hawes Twitter Outburst Inevitable? Spencer Hawes will likely lose some fans and gain new one after tweeting his hot sports opinions regarding the country’s hottest topic. The Kids At The Spencer Hawes Basketball Camp Are Getting Ripped Off

Ugh, I’m so sorry, you guys, but I’m really pissed off so we’re going to talk about politics for just a second. Philadelphia 76ers center Spencer Hawes is 24-years old, attended a highly-regarded prep school, and went to the University of Washington. Because he’s 7-foot-1, he’s been able to play basketball his whole life and he parlayed that into being the 10th player...

Elton Brand has epic whiff on kick

On Wednesday in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, Steve Nash held his “Showdown” soccer event that benefited the Steve Nash Foundation. Dubbed the “Showdown in Chinatown 2012,” various dignitaries from the world of sports participated, including Philadelphia 76ers forward Elton Brand. In retrospect, my guess is Brand wish he wouldn’t have attended. After international [...]

Is it just coincidence that the 76ers drafted Moe Harkles and Andre Iguodala has sold his Philadelphia home?

Most likely since the house had been on the market for a while. But selling his house in Philadelphia is probably the right move for Andre Iguaodala. It’s been rumored for a while now that Iguodala would eventually be traded by the Sixers because they have too many players that essentially play the same position. And low and behold, the Sixers added yet another player that would...

Both Rivers and Collins have been NBA commentators for ESPN and TNT respectively, and will join each other for the Olympics. More on this story here.

Elton Brand: KG has a lot left in the tank

I was in New York to cover Steve Nash’s “Showdown in Chinatown” charity soccer game.  There, I spoke to Elton Brand briefly about Kevin Garnett, against whom Brand and the Philadelphia 76′ers matched up for seven grueling games in the conference semifinals. The simple question was whether he, as a man who faced him on the floor just a month ago, saw any signs of wear in...

On the night of the NBA Draft, Sixers fans were anxious but slightly worried. Fans did not know what to expect heading into Thursday night but the front office did. Charles Barkley wants to be a GM, says he’s not afraid to suck

The Philadelphia 76ers are looking for a new GM after saying that Rod Thorn will be out as the team’s president of basketball operations. Over the past few years, Charles Barkley has expressed interest in becoming a GM. He even said a few weeks ago that he was interested in leading his former team. Barkley’s reason for wanting to be a GM is fantastic, as usual. “I want to...
