The Philadelphia 76ers have picked up the 2013-14 option on coach Doug Collins' contract. Collins led the Sixers to the playoffs in his first two seasons with the team, including a run to the Eastern Conference semifinals last season. Collins says he wants to stay with Sixers in a front office or consulting role when he's finished coaching. The Sixers made him the No. 1 overall pick in the 1973 draft out of Illinois State. He also had coaching stops in Chicago, Detroit and Washington. He has a 408-359 record in 10 seasons.

New-look 76ers open training camp without Bynum

Dressed in his team-issued practice gear, Andrew Bynum looked the part of a Philadelphia 76er. Bynum just couldn't run, practice or play like the rest of the team. Wearing his Sixers tank top for the first day of training camp, Bynum was reduced Tuesday to an All-Star bench player. He participated in some light workouts, then took a seat on the bleachers behind Doug Collins...

Philadelphia 76ers training camp opened to some bad, yet not totally unexpected news. Andrew Bynum will miss three weeks with "knee discomfort." He will not miss any time in the regular season and so the new-look Sixers will not be without their now star center. Knee injuries have plagued Bynum throughout his career. It knocked him out of the 2008 Finals and for...

Andre Iguodala ready to find stability, his game after the Philadelphia 76ers

When the Philadelphia 76ers traded away Allen Iverson to the Denver Nuggets in 2006, “The Answer” left behind the City of Brotherly Love and essentially turned over the franchise to the new A.I. in Philly: Andre Iguodala. Just two years into his pro career at that point, Iguodala blossomed into an NBA All-Star and Olympian as the Sixers reached the NBA postseason...

According to reports I read on a banner trailing a single engine Cessna, Bynum is expected to miss...
