7 questions for the 2012 NBA Finals 1. Q. On a scale of 1 to 10, how excited are you for these Finals? A. 9. For me, anything more than a 9 would require the Lakers to be playing, with a matchup vs. the Celtics garnering the perfect 10, so this Finals matchup has me the most excited possible for one not involving the Lakers, and for good reason. These are arguably the two most talented teams in the league, and the two most entertaining when they’re on their game. Both teams showed great resilience and heart by coming from behind in the conference finals against savvy veteran opponents. Plus there’s the factor covered in question #2 below. Add these up and all the ingredients are there for a truly classic Finals. 2. Q. Is LeBron vs. Durant the best Finals matchup of players at the same position in recent history? A. I say yes. I’m talking about matchups of players at the same position, so this leaves out the Bird vs. Magic Finals in the ’80s, Magic vs. Jordan in ’91 and Jordan vs. Ba...

Thunder player James Harden has become tremendously popular with the team's fans and now they can emulate his facial hair courtesy of a beard printout available in PDF form.

Boston Fan Pours Beer On Lebron James After Celtics Loss To Heat

A.B. As much as I hate Lebron James and the Miami heat, this is bush league. Being some 45 year old mid-life-crisis-big-bellied Bostonian who dropped $200+ on tickets and $8+ on crappy beer doesn’t give you the right to throw a beer at a professional athlete. Be a man and jump on the court and take a swing at the big fella. I would respect that much more. But waiting for Lebron...

NBA Finals Preview – Thunder vs. Heat

It’s the finals every body wanted. LeBron James versus anti-LeBron James, aka Kevin Durant. The makeup of both the Oklahoma City Thunder and Miami Heat could not be any more different. Miami built their big-3 through free agency in the summer of 2010. James and Chris Bosh upped with Dwyane Wade, which of course prompted this.  Meanwhile, just days after...

Footage of a 17 year old Baby Faced Durant right before he went to Texas

At 23 years old Oklahoma Thunder’s Kevin Durant still has a baby face so in this video of him when he was 17 he looks like an infant! Anyway, someone on the innerwebs dug up this video of Kevin at Seat Pleasant Recreational Center in MD. In the video, you can already see Kevin showing signs of that accessible and cautiously candid personality we in the media and blogophere are...

Kevin Durant Understands Individual Matchup Between Him, LeBron James Will Dominant Finals Headlines

Kevin Durant knows that whatever happens in the NBA Finals, he and LeBron James will be viewed as being at the center of it, for better or for worse. He recognizes that, he understands that, but he doesn't have to like that. Durant and James have more in common than chasing a championship starting Tuesday in Oklahoma City. Both have become hermits during the playoffs, with James...

Durant unstoppable in Game 1 of NBA Finals

Playing in his 1st NBA finals game Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant was unstoppable. As the Thunder beat the Miami Heat in Game 1 105-94. The Heat had no answer for the scoring champ. Durant finished the game with 36 points on 12 of 20 shooting from the field. 4 of those field goals were three pointers. Durant also added 8 rebounds and 4 assists. With the...

Heat rise above Celtics, earn title bout

MIAMI As much as LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh chafed at the trash talk, the head games and even the pushups each time they have played Boston, deep down they knew there was a reason the Celtics, after putting Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett alongside Paul Pierce had won a title, lost another in Game 7, and never, ever went down without a fight. The Celtics not only played...

Russell Westbrook wears another ugly shirt at Game 1 of NBA Finals (Photo)

Another Thunder game. Another time Russell Westbrook makes us ask “WTF is he wearing?” This time, for Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Tuesday, Westbrook showed up wearing a white collared shirt printed with what appear to be skiers. If you blur your vision it kind of looks like something John Travolta wears in “Saturday Night Fever.” And he also brought back the red glasses...

Giant statues of Miami Heat big three created at go kart race track (photos)

With the Miami HEAT headed to the 2012 NBA Finals versus the Oklahoma City Thunder, a local South Florida company thought it was only right to commemorate the occasion with 16, 18 and 20 foot statues of the big three. Prime Time Amusements, a global operator, seller and event renter of video arcade machines and simulators, made Miami’s biggest sports figures – LeBron James,...

Windhorst: 'Behavior Modification' Has Helped LeBron

LeBron James returns to the NBA Finals this week, one year after the Heat lost to the Mavericks in disappointing fashion.

Washington 1 of 2 states that don’t want the Thunder to win the NBA Finals (Photo)

If I told you only two states (according to a totally scientific ESPN.com poll) wanted the Miami Heat to win the NBA Finals, do you think you could guess them correctly? Obviously, Florida would be one of your answers. But what about the other? Oh right, it would be Washington. You know, the state the Thunder used to play in as the Seattle Sonics before they were mercilessly ripped...

Bosh, Big Three Key Heat’s Title Run

Kevin Durant and LeBron James have reached another level in the postseason, but the 2012 NBA Finals will more likely be turned by one of their teammates.

Thunder Now Believe They Can Win NBA Finals

Those who witnessed game one of the NBA Finals on Tuesday night, watched as a team evolved and matured before their eyes, from a squad that played tentatively during the first 12 minutes of action, to a team that dominated both ends of the court during the final period, leading to their winning the contest. Perhaps, the Oklahoma City Thunder were a bit overcome with the size of...

You Hate LeBron James Why?

Why aren’t you rooting for LeBron James? Unless you’re an Oklahoma City Thunder, Boston Celtic (Classy) or Indiana Pacer fan, it has no intellect at all. Aren’t you tired of giving all your effort to hating LeBron? Or have you not reached your peak and plan on taking your disgust Facebook statuses to the next level? We get it, LeBron left you clinching your...
