The season opener in Brooklyn between the Nets and Knicks is apparently a big deal. So big of a deal that ticket prices have soared to an average of $800.87 on StubHub and other ticket websites. But that $800 price tag only gets you in the door. If you want the best seats, namely courtside seats, those are going to cost you quite a grip. And when we say “quite a grip”, we mean about $8,100. Tickets to the Nets’ first regular-season game at the new Barclays Center against the crosstown rival Knicks are commanding an average of $800.87 a pop on StubHub and other secondary-market sites. The $800.87 average game-day price is already up 18.59 percent from $675.31 on Oct. 1, and it’s six times higher than what an average Nets ticket runs at face value, $132. The Nets-Knicks game is running as high as $8,100 for courtside seats normally priced for $1,500, and the cheapest seats were selling for $217. $800 just to get in? $8,100 for courtside seats? Just to watch the Knicks and the Nets? W...

Should Amare Stoudemire Be On The Second Unit?

The  New York Knicks need Stoudemire to be healthy for them to be a serious contender this year, but where is the best place for him in the lineup?  Not to only get the best out of him as a player, but also to help the Knicks other key pieces. I love statistics and numbers don’t lie, they don’t capture everything but they definitely paint a picture based on facts. I was...

New York Knicks Lose 98-90 to Philly

Preseason game 5… Melo’s return to Cuse   3 Thoughts immediately after watching this game:   1.  I was disappointed with the Knicks in the first half of this game tonight. They started off with a good open to the game, but after that the Knicks offense was stagnate. Guys were taking bad shots and poor ball movement mixed with absent transition defense lead to what...

Amar’e Stoudemire’s Popliteal Cyst

Amar’e Stoudemire, New York Knicks Center-Forward, may actually be fortunate to have suffered a ruptured popliteal cyst this week, though it will keep him out of action for at least two to three weeks. What is more worrisome than this new wrinkle is whether any of the knee diagnoses Stoudemire has dealt with in the past are more of an issue than the Knicks are aware of or are letting...

New York Knicks’ DISHING AND…. MORE DISHING

As the 1st quarter of the Knicks/Celtics pre-season game wound down Saturday, Mike Breen said, “It sounds simple: Ball Movement. But, it is really is the key to success on the offensive end”. Mike could not have been more right. The teams you see win rings are the ones that move the ball. Elite teams like Boston, Miami, and Chicago have unselfish players. Since the Melo trade...

A Decade Later: How Carmelo Anthony Changed Syracuse Hoops Forever

Ten years ago, can you believe it? The ’02-’03 season ended with Syracuse cutting down the nets in New Orleans, site of so much horror for the program before that. The kid that erased all those ghosts was back in the Dome this week. The critics can howl all they want about Carmelo Anthony. You’ve heard it all before: He doesn’t make his teammates better. He doesn’t play...

The 1st nomination for the 2012 RCL Fantasy Basketball season IS….

Rasheed Wallace.  Yep, I dared team Ballin Like Smush to do it and he is now the proud owner of ‘Sheed for $1 (until waivers on Thursday kicks in at least).  This, in a way, shows the beauty of an auction.  You can start nominating the top guys like LeBron James or try to squeeze [...]
