Bull Shi!t

The NBA announced its All-Star reserves yesterday, and not a single member of the Chicago Bulls was selected. The Bulls have third best record in the Eastern Conference, which would lead you to believe somebody has to be playing well enough to be an All-Star.

I don't think the Bulls have an all-star. Gordon's the closest but I wouldn't pick him over Michael Redd or Joe Johnson and both of them were snubbed as well. And looking at the rosters, the only person from the East that maybe isn't deserving is Vince Carter, but for a game played solely for entertainment purposes, I'd take Vince Carter over Ben Gordon 100 times out 100.

I think Ben Gordon should probably be there, but I would bet this will end up being a nice bit of motivation for the Bulls as this season progresses. Plus how much does this reduce the risk of arrest and other types of trouble which can be had in Vegas over All-Star weekend?

What is the over/under for the number of players who get into trouble?

3?

Vince Carter: 25 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 4.4 APG, 1 steal, 45% fg%
Ben Gordon: 21.5 PPG, 2.8 RPG, 3.6 APG, .78 steal, 46%

I said this last time, Ben Gordon is a one dimensional player. He scores and that's pretty much it. Gordon does not have a case to be an All-Star this year.

Coaches won't give Vince the nod because his effort is not consistent. They hate that. And so do I. Vince Carter has never shown and brought his game for 60 games in a season, never mind 82.

(see other comment) since your obviously just skimming through everything written here.

Agree with Harvey Bars, Gordon is a scoring threat, who comes off the bench to suplly points, a job he does well but not worthy of the all star game. Additionally I don't think any of the Pistons really deserved the spots either. Hamilton has basically the same numbers as Gordon, and Billups missed around the same games as Redd and has worse numbers than both Redd and Joe Johnson.

It's about results, and it is determined by NBA coaches.

That is why Detroit's backcourt is there and Michael Redd and Vince Carter are not. If your team is sitting in the cellar you're not going to the all-star game unless you're Allen Iverson.

There's a solid case to be made for Ben Gordon based on his performance, the Bulls' record, and his role in it.

Good point except that Vince Carter is there. So is Jason Kidd and they are in eighth place in the worst conference ever assembled. And if hadn't been injured, you would have seen Paul Pierce for the game as well. Might want to check your facts before you hop on your high horse.

ouch

Ya, but there has to be a spot for Delonte West.....

Please name a player on the Bulls that deserves to be an all-star.

this isnt the MLB - the "one person from each team makes the team" sort of thing (mark redman). While Gordon is good and very explosive, he's only a scorer and the other guards selected over him are by far better. It's the same reason no Celt Bobcat or Knick (Marbury shoulda gotten a spot) got in

I could probably make a case for Luol Deng, but I won't. Everyone's deserving on that team, except maybe Carter, so it's no big deal.
