Those who know me know that I'm not the type to make fun of anyone, especially not when they're trying to better themselves . . . which brings me to Cleveland Cavaliers guard Delonte West. He's been MIA for a while (for those of you who've even noticed) because he's suffering from a mood disorder. Yes, I said mood disorder, you don't need to go back and re-read that. All right, go ahead, I'll wait . . . Read the Rest, Follow Jump:

  • Wow-who are you to be passing judgement on Delonte or any individual who has the guts and maturity to admit they're having a problem and then get help???? And as for his shooting-in your dreams you could ever be a speck as good as he is-hey bozo can you cut it in the NBA??
  • Very well said jmjlev. Mood disorders are nothing to laugh at, nor do they make you any less of a person. Often times one is genetically inclined to suffer from one because they can be caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. Delonte is more of a man than you are obviously since he can admit his faults. Not to mention that the man hasn't had an easy life, overcoming a lot to reach such an amazing success!! He's a great player and a "jack of all trades" on the court. He & Lebron are great together and he's a lead scorer.
  • It takes a strong person to admit that they have a problem. I give you props Delonte for admiting and taking care of the problem. You show your maturity very well. You are an awesome player and off the court I am sure you carry yourself very well. Everyone loves you. Lots of LOVE Tee

2008 NBA Preview: #14 Cleveland Cavaliers

Offseason Movement: The Cavs swung a good deal by trading Damon Jones and Joe Smith (to the Bucks and Thunder, respectively) for Mo Williams, a dynamic scoring point guard who can also pass the ball (17.2 ppg, 6.3 apg). It's not clear just how much he'll get to handle the ball, but the Cavs would be wise to let him take some of the offensive load off of LeBron. Williams was...

Cavaliers Guard West Receiving Treatment For Mood Disorder

The "Associated Press" reported Friday that Cleveland Cavaliers guard Delonte West is back with the team after taking some time off to deal with what he labeled as mood swings and depression. West was a restricted free agent who re-signed with Cleveland last month after coming to the franchise last February in a three team [...]

Which Cav makes more than LeBron?

In the natural order of things in professional sports, the highest-paid player gets the most scrutiny from the first day of the season on. That is not the case for the Cavaliers, which is a refreshing change for the man in question. Ben Wallace will earn $14.5 million this season, about $100,000 more than LeBron James, but he's been able to operate in relative anonymity. After...

Is Maxiell Worth the Mid-Level?

While I ponder my fanhood of the Browns, this morning I turn my attention to the Cavaliers. Sure, they may not even be in season yet, but I'm not even thinking about this year. After hearing from Natalie over at Need4Sheed that the Pistons could be low-balling forward/center Jason Maxiell, the first thought that came to my mind was "Man, would he look nice in Cleveland...
