Denver to Send Melo to The Nets?

The Denver Nuggets are reportedly in talks with the New Jersey Nets that includes one of the premiere players in the league. The rumored deal is that Denver will send Carmelo Anthony and Marcus Camby to the New Jersey for Richard Jefferson, Marcus Williams, and the soul of retired* Keith Van Horn. How does this all fit? What team is getting the upperhand? Take a brief look and let us know what you think?

Only if Denver's Management is as STOOOPID as Memphis' Management. =P'

Moving Carmelo this early in his career would probably rank as the worst trade in the history of the NBA. All of Melo's problems are related to maturity - patience is required. Trading him is not the solution. Trading A.I., however, makes a lot of sense.

As a carmelo fan im happy to see that melo may have a chance to get out of denver. With that team there was no way of winning a championship. With Marcus camby coming in with melo the nets are going to be receiving a great inside the paint and helpside defender.Richard Jefferson almost had an all star year hes a great player.Marcus williams a promising young point gaurd will be a big peice to that denver line up because they can keep allen iverson at the 2 man position. If Keith van Horn comes out of retirement he will provide denver an outside shooter which is desperately needed. Yet this does'nt solve denvers lack of defense . All togethor New Jersey obviously has the upper hand and are sure to become a powerhouse in the east.

That will be a great squad in a couple years when LeBron's buddy brings him to NJ to play with Melo and the player formerly known as Vinsanity

Why would they give away Camby?

The only thing I can think of in terms of this trade making sense is that there may be a little cancer in the lockerroom in terms of Melo. Camby is probably just a long for the ride to sweeten the pot. Van Horn isn't officially in retirement which is why he can continue to be included in these deals without ever having to play. Does he have to take a physical? What a joke.

I figured it was pretty evident that the reason they went ahead and got Melo was because Lebron was still going to be chillin on his throne in cleveland in 2010...

Trading Melo would be a major step back for the Nugs. How old is this guy, 25? He can be a major building block for their future. Good luck to the Nets if they can land him, but the Nugget's are throwing in the towel if they dump him.

The "soul" of Van Horn. Darn.......Dallas gave that "soul" to NJ in that big trade for Kidd and now they can't use it? That would be a formidable team up there with Camby, Melo, Jefferson and the point guard that I didn't want Dallas to give away, Harris.

You mean Vince instead of Jefferson. Jefferson is the one traded.

Yes, sorry about that. Thanks for the correction.

Why would they trade Melo for trash. Sounds like a made up trade, makes zero sense. It's like they are just making a move to make a move. Zero reasoning behind this.

Think Lakers/Grizzlies. Obviously, trades don't have to make sense. And "Zero Reasoning" is the nickname of sports, in general. And, one more thing, I wouldn't necessarily consider Jefferson trash. Come on.

That trade would do nothing for either team - 1) it does not address the defensive issues of the Nuggets, 2) as good as Melo is - if he is considered 'soft' in the west, then....... 3) Melo would STILL need to play defense - even more so in the east and 4) I agree Denver would be basically GIVING away a good - potentially great player!

I don't understand why anyone would want trade him either. There must be more to the story somewhere.

The Nets would get the upper hand in this one. Melo would rock the East. He will not have to work as hard as he does in a uch tougher Western Conf.

Only thing is, he's going to have to learn how to play defense in the Eastern Conference. Not sure the Western Conference is that much tougher. They just play better defense in the Eastern Conference. Shoot, too bad he can't pair up with LeBron.

Actually, Carmelo's agent has confirmed that Carmelo is not going anywhere. The Nets got the 10th pick in the draft and that is not good enough for Carmelo. He's not going anywhere. GO NUGGETS!

im reading this blog.. and im sitting here like...........are u serious... trade.. ai... trade melo... trade camby.... it dont have nothing to do with that........ what denver needs to do ,,,it..... trade..k mart(much luv baby) but trade him... get jermane o neal..... tell melo..... brother u need to stay out of trouble and stop messing up... tell ai.. to run the show and its time for u to be ventage ai... not.. pass 1st ai... tell camby ..and j neals.. to hold down the blocks. and box out... get o neal to get them to play defence.. .... i mean come on yall... the west is gansta this year..... future more... i think if.. denver would have played... new orleans 1st round.....beat them... played san antiono 2nd round and went 7 games.. and let ai.. and melo.. go off game 7... i think .. we would not be having this convo about.. trade ai ... trade melo..... let keep this in perspective... they played the lakers 1st round... the la show.. just got too much fire power.. and kobe is playing out of his mind right now( in not a kobe fan.. but u have to respect his game..) jermaine o neal to denver is what we need to be screaming.................................................................... side note... who let k.korver go to utah... i mean... when he was in philly with ai.. they was killing... they need to get korver.. but i know that not going to happen

From the interview with Kiki Vandeweigh, he said that they were all rumors, but as always, they have to come from somewhere. I don't think that the nuggets will trade melo and camby, but there is always the possibility, so I hope tht they dont't!!!

NOT A GOOD TRADE FOR DENVER! if i was NJ, i'll take it in a heartbeat!

man it would be tight though. vince carter and melo!!!

how bout vince carter for melo? jefferson isnt really a good player for a trade fo r a ALL-STAR melo. melo is to good to trade for jeferrson carter could be a better trade for melo

umm richard jefferson isnt garbage folks.

Agreed - but why would you trade for a 2 year older player - who DOES NOT have any more playoff experience than the one you are trading?

jefferson played in the nba finals with the nets...
