Robert Horry has had an interesting NBA career to say the lest, but have his recent actions put him in the catagory of dirty player?

Lol 1 answer,YES!!!

In his old age he's turning into a hack. Not to take away anything from his clutch shots, but I'm starting to think so.

nice writeup...I am a suns fan, the foul on Nash didn't bother me so much as Amare and the suns coaches making the mistake of getting off the bench. (poorly written rule with good intention aside).

But this injury on a player with known back problems was worse in my view. It's clear for those without a side already chosen that Horry is playing dirty.

Also, on your point about Nash's momentum carried him into the table and it not being horry's fault so much...I disagree.
It's like saying something like this.....
I'm driving a car, you riding another car, I hit your car and your speed sends you into a telephone pole. Your argument kind of says I'm innocent, its the momentum of the car that caused the injury. If I never hit your car, there wouldn't be an accident. If Horry had just played without trying to hurt someone because the game was clearly over, there never would've been an accident. But, it was clearly a dirty play with better than expected results for the spurs.

Also, one big point about Horry, he kicked Amare in the Achilles heel during last yrs playoffs, in the most unnatural, and would never occur sequence unless your trying to hurt a player. Wish I could find the video for you on that one...

But, there's also this very valid counter point on the injury, should West have been in there? No. The Spurs are a very smart team and exploit other teams mistakes, big or small.

Yes he is dirty player and so is Bruce Bowen. Actually though I blame the coach. I understand this is playoff basketball, but to win at any cost, no, if your team has made it this far then let your skills do the talking. Any body can take out a key player in a game but they don't. I believe that the coach told him to go in and do that. I know everyone thinks Popovich is a great coach, but I really think he is a dirty coach. At this stage in his game Robert Horry is an expendable player if it means taken out a key player for the opponent and Pop uses him for his dirty work. If he gets a flagrant foul it is know biggie. They know how big West was in th previous game at home, so the want to try to keep him out of the next game or at least not 100%. Dirty, dirty, dirty. Just like I didn't like his hack a Shaq strategy in the first round. It really took away from the game and actually it makes his team look desperate. Win by any means necessary, cheap shot, win because you are the best, priceless.

Is Horry a dirty player......the short version is " HELL YES". The long version would be......in his old age (basketball player years that is, like dog years) he has become a dirty player. To set the mode of how I feel about him. I'm a Phoenix native, so of course a longtime Suns fan. I love our rivalry with the Laker, all the way back to Kareem Abul-Jabar. And for the record, Kobe is a arogant player, but he backs it up. I love watching him play. He's assume moves, quickness and skill. He's got more game than Hasbro and Mattel together. To get back to Horry's game. At his prime I think was a good player a best. He now has to resume to cheap shots and illegal picks to try to be a key player. The foul he gave West was a cheap shot, like the one he gave Nash. I don't believe he meant to put West out of the game though. If you look at the play over and over, it was a matter turnover about to happen. Horry was set for Ginobli (another dirty player) to drive the lane, but he passed it instead. West was about to intercept the pass, and would have until Horry popped him. He did lean into West on purpose, but not to hurt him but to prevent the interception. Definitely a hard and dirty foul, but not a flagrant one, in my mind. The Spurs have more than their fair share of dirty players. Bowen,Ginobli,Horry and sometimes Parker (intentional headbutt to Nash comes to mind). I know the Suns aren't exempt from dirty play. The clothesline Raja Bell gave Kobe was bullshit. "Dis aint streetball yall".
The league really needs to take a hard look at the bullshit plays that are making the game ugly. Like players trying to get the offensive charge call by floppy like the scarecrow in Wizard of OZ. And these bull#*^+ Haq-a-Shaq fouls gotta go. That's a big boy, he's gonna get tired of that crap pretty soon and lay somebody out.
Yes I hate the Spurs and yes I hate Horry the most. My hate towards Horry goes way back to when he was once a Suns player. Horry and Danny Ainge(the coach of Suns at the time) got into a argument, and Horry threw a towel in the face of Ainge. I believe it was a dirty towel also. I hate knowing that Horry has 7 championship ring to his name and there have been great players that have zip. But, I do love know that his will probably retire soon and he will now be know as a dirty player, at lease in all of Arizona he is.
