Deuce of Davenport -:
Great post from the blog, Deuce of Davenport.
"Michigan alum and current Phoenix Sun Jalen Rose bought a billboard to honor the Fab Five the season after their 15-year anniversary."
Because of Chris Webber's indiscretions, the Fab Five's banners had to be taken down at the school.
"Rose had the billboard placed in Detroit near the area where he and Webber grew up."
Cool article, includes picture of billboard.

Will Chris Webber Decide Who Wins the 2007 NBA Title?
Stop me if you've heard this story before: an All-Star power forward wears out his welcome with several teams; he amasses impressive statistics but his teams do not win any championships; by the time his last team gives up on him, he is barely averaging 10 ppg and his career seems to be coming to an unceremonious end. Sounds like Chris Webber, right? It does, but I'm actually...
49 Chris Webber Rookie Cards
For the past 14 years, I didn't want to look at these cards. Now I have to. Webber is expected to play for the Warriors this Thursday, their 49th game of the season. To commemorate this event, I've dug deep into my closet to post 49 Chris Webber rookie cards...
Who's in the rocking chair?
New 'Lost' tonight.
Chris Webber makes his second Warrior debut tonight against the Chicago Bulls, getting the start. Steve Carlton signed with the San Francisco Giants in 1986, who hoped he could recapture some of his old form. This signing seems headed for a similar ending. (San Francisco Chronicl...
What the issue of trading means to some coaches
Sometimes it pays to make things work between a player and a coach.
Take for example the Chris Webber and Head Coach Don Nelson fiasco awhile back in GSW. Sure, Nellie is back as their Head Coach, but he no longer wields the administrative powers that he once did. As for Webber, well...let's just say that http://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gifthe sun has certainly set on his...
Bad Trades: Lakers vs. Kings
Marc Stein lists his top 5 bad trades in his Daily Dime column. In his honorable mention sits the Chris Webber to Philadelphia trade, which I lambasted as "the worst trade ever." At the time, nobody agreed with my assessment. As I said in a later column, the Webber trade officially ended Sacramento's...
Practice? We're talkin' practice?
From Janny Hu.
Not to take anything away from a nice Warriors' win tonight, but there just wasn't enough room in tomorrow's paper to do this Chris Webber-Jim O'Brien drama justice.
The background: Player and coach didn't get along during their partial 2004-05 season together in Philly. O'...
Monday Bullets
Last time Chris Webber was a free agent, I wrote about how Chris Webber would not make a big difference wherever he landed. Then the Pistons signed him and rattled off a mess of wins. Now he's honing in on Golden State, and I'm inclined to think the same thing again. Don Nelson disagrees, however.The...
Scot Pollard speaks - in a "journal" not a "blog"
Over at TrueHoop.com, they've got a guest journalist, new Celtic Scot Pollard:
"Hey Kids! First of all, let me mention I hate the word blog. Here's my journal of what happened in Serbia last week, September 19th-23rd.
I landed in Belgrade in the late afternoon, and went to the hotel and got a nap. I had dinner at eight, then met with Vlade and several celebrities...
A good reason to sign an NBA player to a multi-million dollar deal
Gone are the days where National Basketball Association (NBA) players were able to sign outlandish contracts such as that of the Los Angeles Lakers star Earvin "Magic" Johnson's nonsensical 1984 deal that proposed to pay him "a million dollars a year for next 25 years" to a pair of astronomical 1993 rookie deals that gave then Golden State Warriors' forward...
Hanging Out With the Stars!
Last week, I got to go a Washington Capitals game for the first time and it was amazing. I plan on buying an Alexander Ovechin #8 jersey because he is a beast. Then I went to LA for the NAACP Image Awards and to do a photo shoot for a car and high speed magazine (I'll let you know when it hits newsstands so you can go pick it up). It was my first time attending the Image Awards...

Blog Podge: NBA News and Notes
Anyone catch Chris Webber on TNT last night? He did a solid job and slammed the Mavericks pretty good. Also, see what it takes to be a championship team, according to Kenny Smith.
Hill's Return To Pistons Would Be Poetic Justice
Call it "Homecoming -- The Sequel". But here's hoping that it has the same results as "The Godfather, Part II," as opposed to "Caddyshack II."
The Pistons tried to play the nostalgia and emotion card last January, when they brought Chris Webber home to finally realize his dream of playing NBA ball in Detroit. And it worked, for a time -- until...
Lakers Looking At Webber
With Andrew Bynum out for two months the Lakers are looking at trying to get Chris Webber or PJ Brown. They already have center Chris Mihm out in addition to Bynum. The only big men they have are Kwame Brown, Steven A. Smith’s best buddy, and undersized Ronny Turiaf.
The addition of Webber woul...

A wolverine fan, and Alum through and through, I feel that last year's NBA draft was a bigger disgrace to the Wolverine faithful., in that they were featured almost more prominently than any other team. Unfortunately, they were glamorized as "punks" by Greg Oden and Michael Conley, Jr. time after time in their draft night highlight reels. 3 N.I.T. runs after lackluster, mediocre runs at best vs. 2 life-changing and game changing seasons of boasts, brags, WINS, heart-breaking losses, long shorts, black shoes and socks. pardon me Mr. ExFan, but that just does not compete!
