dallasnews.com:
We all know that Jason Kidd lob passes to Shawn Marion are going to be fun to watch this season.
But Matt Carroll to Marion?
It happened on a nicely executed lob during Fan Jam on Friday night.
"That kind of shocked me,'' Marion said. "And it shocked him, too.
But that was fun. We are an athletic team.''
Whoa, wait a minute. Mavericks and athletic getting used in the same sentence? That hasn't happened much over the years.
"They have had some athletic guys,'' Marion said. "It just gets overshadowed by guys shooting Js.''
Marion can shoot it, too. But he showed his whole package at fan jam, with offensive rebounding, steals, tip-ins and post-ups.
"We're still working out the kinks,'' he said. "We got a little ways to go. But for the most part, we competed on both ends.''
As for the Kidd lob, which he flushed early in the scrimmage, he said: "It's going to work. That's going to be there. Kidd's going to sling it up there. I just got to go up there and get it.''
