O'BRIEN WASTING DANIEL'S TALENT!
Last night the Pacers found they're way to Dallas now The King always enjoys when the Mavs play the Pacers because I normally get to see Marquis Daniels in live action I have always enjoyed his silky smooth game and rarely get to see alot of it in highlights. So I sat on my throne cracked opened a cold one. I try to keep up with Marq so I knew he had started several times recently, had recently had a 17 pt 4 reb game of the bench. So when the game started he wasn't in the line up I was disappointed but I expected him to be one of the first couple off the bench. I believe he got in the game mid third. He then weaved his silky smooth self in and out of Dallas's D, Then he was on the bench again. Now I don't rip coachs too often but are you kidding O'Brien is a idiot he is wasting Marq's ample talent! I was annoyed enough to do a little research what I found made me even angrier. O' Brien not only doesn't know how to use his roster he also doesn't even know his players. I started with the Indiana Pacers Website. First thing I saw about Marq, and I found these following qoutes from O'Brien.
"Here's a guy when you think about it was a power forward in college. Now all of a sudden he's playing point guard at 6-7 out of necessity because we have Jamaal down," said Coach Jim O'Brien. (I COPIED AND PASTED BOTH QUOTES DIRECTLY) Now I know a little about Marq it seems more then O'Brien. Marq was a pg and a sg in college at Auburn, and he is 6'6. But I didn't want to blog without proof so I sent a while searching the web typeing in Maquis Daniels Auburn. I found I was correct with all of them saying he was 6'6, and he was a ps,sg,sf. The King has included one. Daniels is a versatile athlete who played all five positions during his time at Auburn. His ideal spot is small forward, where he is more of a scorer than a pure shooter. He's a good passer, a capable rebounder and willing defender, but can he shoot well enough to make it at the next level? POSITIVES: Daniels spent his entire junior year playing point guard. In the NBA, 6-6 point guards are at a premium. Not only is Daniels a playmaker, he is also a tremendous ball thief, rebounder and scorer. He is comfortable playing three positions and offers excellent versatility defensively. There is little not to like about Daniels. In the NCAA Tournament, he showed the ability to carry a team on his back. Thanks to SI.com 2003 draft for proving The King right. Can you be surprised the Pacers are terrible. I mean has he ever even talked to marq obviously they havn't talked about college, but you would think he would know a guy he pluged in as the starting pg had spent his junior year playing pg. That you think would be the first think to come up when you want to put someone at pg. "Have you ever played pg?" Maybe thats just The King. Anyway I just hope someone will eventually give Marq some playing time before they waste his talent completely.
