-Every day when I came home from work for the last few weeks I've been watching--and suprisingly enough, enjoying--Euro 2008. I've never been much of a Soccer fan but I have to say, once you start to understand the game it is incredibly enjoyable.
I don't have any profound statements to make about the game, strategy or anything like that but I will say this... Germany: if you want to be a championship team why would you hire a coach that dresses like an indie-rock star?
Am I right or am I right?
-If a Buddhist practices Buddhism, does a receptionist practism receptionism?
-Kanye West is bitchy.
He shouldn't have tried to shoe-horn his normal show into Bonaroo. He should have rolled with the punches and perfomed his MUSIC and scrapped the light show.
-Joba Chamberlain got his first win last night.
Yay.
Joba Chamberlain would be completely unknown if he played for a team that wasn't named the New York Yankees. Just ask Pat Neshek
-Beasley would easily be the first pick in tonights NBA draft if it wasn't for the fact that Derrick Coleman exists.
Who benefits from this: Another guy named Derrick (spelled the same)...weird.
-I hope the Wizards break their fear of transcending and resign Gil/Antawn, trade Caron for Carmelo and draft Deandre Jordan
-In 3 days lol cats animals will start being played out so laugh at this while you still can.

CAA: Creative Acquisition Agency
I always keep my eye on the big conglomerates. That being said, it definitely caught my attention when I saw this headline yesterday: New York Yankees Select Creative Artists Agency for Global Partnership and to Market Unprecedented Sponsorship Opportunities for New Yankee Stadium. Should this be surprising? CAA has already broken ground in a variety of ways, why not add another...

Young pitchers -- use at your own risk
If you are a New York Yankees' fan -- or a fan of any baseball team with a young pitching phenom -- you have to stop by Peter Abraham's fantastic LoHud Yankees Blog. There, a guest post from Will Carroll of Baseball Prospectus describes in painstaking detail why the Yankees would be taking an immense ...
Neyer: Slow Down With All The Ramiro Pena Hype
Rob Neyer had this to say in response to Bill Madden's article this weekend in which he called Ramiro Pena the Yankees short stop of the future.Well first let's look at a couple quotes from the Madden article:"When I first saw him three years ago, you could knock the bat out of his hands," said one veteran scout whose primary assignment is in the minor leagues. "But he was a magician...
Girardis Genius
Last year Joe Girardi came in as manager of the New York Yankees with near impossible shoes to fill. Joe Torre's departure was an ugly one after 12 seasons of making the playoffs, and baseball's most historical stadium was closing its doors. This season the Yankee Empire looks to revive itself with a brand new stadium, brand new highly sought after free agents, and a youthful look...
R.I.P. Yankee Stadium: A Picture Truly IS Worth 1000 Words
By: Stephen Meyer
Here lies "The House That Ruth Built" (1923-2008):
(Courtesy of This Purist Bleeds Pinstripes)
At this time of the year, Yankee Stadium's grass typically appeared as green and fresh as a warm summer day.It was almost time for baseball season, and the Bronx would once again be alive with chants, rants, cheers, and boos.In 2009, however...
Yankees - Blue Jays: Grading the Pettitte domination
I’m hoping this spring means something and that all these Yankee
wins could help build momentum for when the regular season starts. We
know that these games don’t prove much but I’ll take what I saw.
I have Andy Pettitte as one of my bench pitchers in fantasy baseball and I’m wondering if I should make him a starter.
A+ Andy Pettitte
Total domination...
No More Melk Deliveries (Clever!)
I guess after a year of seeing more of THIS from Melky:than THIS:Girardi has determined that enough is enough. After a solid 2006 and serviceable 2007 season, Melky really fell apart in 2008. In 129 games he amassed an average of just .249, his OBP was a frightening .301, and he only managed to knock in 37 runs (although the rest of the idiots hitting ahead of him didn't help much...
Injury A Major Concern For Yankees
The yankees have the best pitching in the MLB. They have one of the greatest leaders in the MLB in Derek Jeter. They have the young talent (Sabathia, Gardner, Cano) and the skilled veterans (Burnett, Pettite, Damon, Jeter). In other words, the New York Yankees should be a major contender for the World Series this year.
The only the thing that might scare Yankee fans...

Cano on a mission
Kevin Kernan of the New York Post reported today that a new and improved Robinson Cano is in camp this spring, and that he has high hopes for this upcoming season.Of course, I'd love to agree with Kernan here, but I'm not sold just yet. The article mentions that hitting coach Kevin Long visited Cano in the offseason in the Dominican Republic. This is definitely a really good...
The Sports Dons 2009 AL West Preview
The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim won the American League West by 21 games in 2008, a margin 13 1/2 games wider than the next largest difference which was the Chicago Cubs’ 7 1/2 game lead over National League Wild Card winner Milwaukee. With the departures of some key Angels and the acquisitions of some big name players by the other teams in the West, the race will tighter, but...
2006 AD in BC
I've been in Vancouver for a little over a month and my stay is almost at an end. I haven't found much time to write but have been keeping up with the Toronto Blue Jays as much as possible. Gardner is the CF
Brett Gardner was named the starting CF by Joe Girardi after todays game. He said the plan is for Melky to be on the team, so if he isn't traded he will be the backup. I think this is the right move, Gardner played so well at the end of last year and this spring, he takes better routes on balls, has unbelievable speed. When he gets...
