Jefferson
The newly acquired Spurs forward is heading to San Antonio for a fresh start professionally and without the old 'ball and chain.' Jefferson would have started his first season with the Spurs as a euphoric newlywed, but had a recent change of heart. Jefferson called off his wedding to Kesha Nichols on Friday, the night before the ceremony was to take place. Nichols immediately notified her family and friends that the ceremony was off while Jefferson waited to notify his friends a few ...

What makes you so sure he's the bad guy in this situation. For all we know he could have caught her with someone.

that's exactly what I was wondering... Seems a little extreme for cold feet. But we really have no idea what happened.

in fact, maybe he didn't notify his friends because he was heartbroken and hoping he could make the wedding happen after all?

"the estimated cost of the event, $2M"

    gold digger.
  • Only Jefferson and the girl know what happened. I would rather a last minute break-up than two to the chest and two upside his head(bullets). A wife shot-gunned her pro football player husband and robbed a bank too. A boxers wife choked him with her purse strings(strap). Now might not be the time to get married. Big weddings don't last anyway. Go to Vegas and get a quicker and cheaper marriage. The cab driver can be your witness. It beats that 2 Mil tab. The courthouse is cheap too. Don't get taken in the beginning and the end of the marriage. Minimize that cost. Sorry, but that squeaky clean image is gone. Backing out of a huge production marriage at the last moment is not acceptable. This year in the NBA is going to be rough for Jefferson to overcome. But have no fear, something will come along and knock this story out of the spotlight.

We don't know the reason this happened, and I'll place my bets that we'll never know. But honestly, I could really give a s**t...

she was doing something suspect im' siding with Richard on this one... he doesn't come off as a prick to me so it had to be something extreme. I'll really believe its something she did if she hasn't made a big scene about it. that would mean she has something to hide

  • I doubt if Athletes give a damn about the media if things are going good. I just reat some FAT BLOATED reporter say that LeBron blew off his OBLIGATION to talk to medai after game 6. What a joke. This is a free country. it's polite to talk to media, maybe, but athletes are generally annoyed by the sarcastic hateful picking performed by most media and hateful "fans" who watch sports 24/7 and think these guys are obligated to humbly impress them while they sit on the couch. They have every right to complain when media gets the story wrong and makes nonsense up. He realized the girl didnt really love him, and as a Nets' dancer she obviously had a plan since her childhood...he just saved himself millions and the embarrasment of losing it all to a gold digging con.

No buddy, NBA players ARE OBLIGATED to attend post-game media sessions. It's part of their job. That's why the league has the right to fine them.
