You gotta love the latest stunt pulled by Ron Artest. He hired 23-year-old Turkish model Natalin Avci and his own camera crew to join him for an interview with Sports Illustrated. If you thought Ron-Ron has gained some amount of sanity of the past few years, think again: "I signed for five years but I want to box, I want to fight a heavyweight fight in four years," Artest said on more than one occasion. "I started training already and I'm doing good and I think in four years I'll be ready to fight my first professional fight. I want to get four professional fights under my belt and see how I do and take it from there. That's been my goal for a long time. Whether I get knocked out or knock somebody out, I just want to fight."Why wait? After the Lakers fail to repeat, I think Artest should jump right into boxing. Follow your dreams, man.More pictures of Natalin Avci after the jump.

Ron Artest vs Random Cereal Guy, video

Ron Artest vs Random Cereal Guy, video. Normally, when Ron Artest does one of these ranting videos I take out the best parts. This one is 10 minutes long and it is full of Ron Artest explaining why he needs to be on this nature cereal instead of some random white guy, that might be [...]

Ron Artest Politely Asks Blog Critic To Fellate Something

Writing an "open letter" to Ron Artest demanding that he clean up his act and then emailing it to him seemed like such a good idea. Who could have guessed Artest would respond with, "Suck a ****"? Blogger Kyle Slavin of the site "The Second Coming" wrote a very long (and pretty condescending) post last week explaining to Artest what it means to be a...

Natalin Avci Sizzles On SI.com (Who’s Ron Artest?)

As we revealed last week, for the photo shoot on a SPORTS ILLUSTRATED article, we’ll all be treated to one of the choicest dimepieces the world’s ever seen. Also, next to her will be Ron Artest, who we’re told plays the “basket’s ball.” Never heard of him, really, and haven’t we already talked about him [...]

Another Open Letter to Ron Artest

Hey Ron Ron, Hope things are good with you. Same old with me. Take the Mazda to get some cereal, then I'm back on my grind. I'm writing because I'm worried about you, my man. Well, also worried about what you might do to me. I don't want to be hurt again. Nah, just playing. You know I've had your back since before Auburn Hills, and couldn't be more stoked...

Ronlander: Starring Ron Artest and Natalin Avci

In honor of Ron-Ron's latest battle with the crazy pills -- namely setting up his own photoshoot during a Sports Illustrated interview -- I've enhanced the awesome pictures of him and Natalin Avci with my favorite quotes from Zoolander (plus one bonus quote from Van Wilder). It's funny, but a lot of them read like authentic Ron Artest-isms.By the way, I'm sorry the...

Ron Artest: Good Basketball Player, Mediocre Man of Letters

On Friday I linked to an open letter to Ron Artest at the Second Coming blog. Blogger Kyle Slavin had written about his own devotion to the Lakers, and expressed both excitement and a little worry at the presence of Artest. Included was a kind of warning: You better do well. If you do, we'll love you. If not, we are Laker fans, and we can ruin you. I'm paraphrasing, but that...

Artest Takes The High Road Concerning Cuban’s Comments

There will be no fireworks coming out of Los Angeles; at least not this time. The “Los Angeles Times” spoke to the newest member of the Los Angeles Lakers Ron Artest about the comments that Dallas Mavericks Team Owner Mark Cuban made to a Dallas “ESPN” affiliate last week. Cuban told the radio station he [...]

Ron Artest is A Damn Genius

[caption id="attachment_4182" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="Featured in this photo: Ron Artest, Natalin Avci and Ron's wedding ring"][/caption] It seems as if everyday I'm reading another story with a central theme of 'rich athlete doesn't appreciate what he has.'  Whether someone is demanding more money to...

An Open Letter to Ron Artest

This is an open call to The Real Ron Artest. To the Ron Artest that Laker fans are hatin on. The Artest that hangs out with Hamed Haddadi. The Artest that doesn't kiss ass. There's a reason I'm writing this...

Berger: Welcome back to the show that never ends in L.A.

Can Ron Artest add another ring to the L.A. circus, or just more chaos? While the Lakers also deal with Lamar Odom's new TMZ status, it will be a wild ride as Kobe and Phil try to repeat, Ken Berger says.

FanHouse Preview: Pacers

by Matt SteinmetzFiled under: PacersFanHouse previews all 30 NBA teams in advance of the 2009-10 season. Natalin Avci Was a Wise Choice, Mr. Artest

Ron Artest hand-picked this model, Natalin Avci, to be in a photoshoot with him. T’was a wise decision. (What was the photo shoot for? Nothing. Just for his personal files.)
