Will Rockets fans miss the most important trade of the decade? It could definitely go under the radar.H-Town shipped both its 2009 draft picks (to bring in Luis Scola and Ron Artest), leaving most Rockets fans without incentive to follow the NBA’s annual rite of passage. It’s no small secret, though, that the team would like to get rid of Tracy McGrady, and June 25 could be as good of time as any to make it happen.Could they dish him to another area code when supporters have their collective heads turned? Draft Express has heard murmurs:Houston also seems to be very active in trade talk, particularly in trying to move Tracy McGrady we’re told. McGrady will be out for the first 20-30 games of the regular season, but there is some thought that he might be able to help a playoff team down the stretch, particularly since he’s in a contract year. It’s tough to see how many teams would be able to absorb the $20+ million he’s owed next season. The New York Knicks might be one of them. Houst...

  • Sad to see him leave the Rockets, but they have to deal him while he's still got some value.
  • T-Mac hasn't played a full season since the 4th grade. I can't really see any team trading for his services for just 1 year, especially given his injury history. There is no telling when he will be back, or what kind of player he will be when he does.
  • It's hard to pick which team would trade for McGrady when he has one year left and is set to make some 20 million dollars. Hmm, which team is stupid enough to trade for him? Grizzlies? Clippers? Hawks? Thunder? Clippers, oh wait said them already.
  • Understandable they want to dish him, seeing as the Rockets finally survived some post-season play while he was on the bench. Finding a team that will take him for $20 mil? May be tough... especially with the free agent class of 2010, that kind of money will be spent carefully.
  • Tracy McGrady needs to be drinking his milk and get some calcium in his bones, BECAUSE HE IS ALWAYS INJURED!! it's about time he's traded. The rockets should dish yao ming too, since he seems to stay unhealthy also!

NBA Trade Rumor: Tracy McGrady to the Knicks

This isn’t going to fly as an alternative to LeBron for the New York faithful. But there’s a chance that the Knicks - who are always assumed to be willing to exceed the luxury tax - would like to bring in Tracy McGrady as a one-year mercenary. It would sell some tickets, some jerseys, and [...]

McGrady A Knick ?

Now that the NBA Finals are over trade rumors are all over the place, most purely speculative. It’s what us fans love to do in the off season. The hot topic today is the possibility of Houston Rockets guard Tracy McGrady becoming a member of the New York Knicks. The rumor [...]

The White Stuff: James White cleared and ready for take-off

T-Mac Attack?

[This has been floating around for a while now, but it's clearly starting to pick up steam now that it's reached Jonathan Givony's desk.] The playoff success of the Houston Rockets without Tracy McGrady has made the injury-plagued all-star expendable. With one year and $23.2M left on his deal -- plus the baggage he brings with him as a high-maintenance personality -...

Revisiting the 2002 NBA Draft

by Gary WashburnFiled under: Bulls, Rockets, NBA DraftFanHouse fixes a decade of draft-day blunders in Revisiting the NBA Draft. The 2002 NBA Draft is filled with what ifs. What if Jason Williams had decided not to jump on that motorcycle? What if DaJuan Wagner had been physically able to withstand the rigors of the NBA? What if NBA scouts weren't so enamored with European prospects...

Let the revisionist history begin…

Tim Legler was on SportsCenter giving his take on the series: “…really were only seriously challenged in one series, the Houston Rockets, who surprisingly took them to a seventh game. They did it with relative ease.” Really? So one Orlando win and two Laker wins in OVERTIME isn’t a serious challenge? I wrote the following last night [...]

Game 42: Nuggets @ Rockets

(Boulder-CO) In a rare afternoon game, we celebrate Martin Luther King Day with the Denver Nuggets taking on the Houston Rockets. The Nuggets are fresh off their longest home stand of the year of which they fared 5-2 overall despite losing Carmelo to a broken hand that is going to keep the All-Star sidelined until at least the end of January. The Rockets started off the new year...

Phoenix Not Keen On Shipping Shaq To Cleveland

Without a doubt, since Michael Jordan’s retirement, the two most physically dominant players in the NBA have been Shaquille O’Neal, then LeBron James (rounding out the top five, if you were curious, would probably be Dirk Nowitzki, Yao Ming, and Tracy McGrady). This is to take nothing away from the momentous accomplishments of Tim Duncan [...]
