Stackhouse interview could kill the deal to acquire Kidd

Man, is this becoming a soap opera or what?

"As the New Jersey Nets and Dallas Mavericks feverishly worked to convince Devean George to join in the trade for Jason Kidd on Thursday, there suddenly loomed another issue that could obliterate the proposed deal: the loose lips of Jerry Stackhouse.

The NBA will investigate the possibility the Mavericks and Stackhouse violated league rules with a prearranged agreement for the forward to return to Dallas after reaching a contract buyout in New Jersey and sitting out the 30-day waiting period, sources said. Several league sources said the NBA will consider forbidding Stackhouse to re-sign with the Mavericks this season as punishment for public comments the forward made on Wednesday that suggested tampering could have occurred. "

The article contains the text of Stackhouse's interview, the reaction of some league executives, and what's currently going on with the trade that may never happen. What a colossal mess!

Wow, I guess he couldn't keep his mouth shut.

Yep, I thought this might happen. I mean what was he thinking. He's been telling everyone that will listen that he gets 30 days of rest before going back to Dallas????

He's never been bright though. He was the guy who threw the ball at the backboard on a free throw and thought it would be ok...

LOL, good point.

Yeah, it was crazy for him to make those statements... I know he's heard it from Mark Cuban, who I know can go off on people, lol, and probably a few other people at this point... He definitely wasn't thinking. smh...

One word: STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember this is the gut that did'nt understand the free throw rules...during a pivotal playoff game mind u

I didn't remember this, but I looked it up, and again, smh... He tried that backboard trick with 2.5 seconds left in the game...they could have easily lost! wow...

ok texasgirl....u have to enlighten me....smack my hiney?

LOL! :-)

I thought of this right away when I heard it. I think they put that 30 day rule because of the Gary Payton deal a few years back when he came back to the Celtics. Stack wasn't smart to open his mouth about it, especially when the deal wasn't signed by the league yet.

Stack is the sharpest tool in the box, is he?

sorry, isn't

haha.....speaking of tools....no he is not WorldofIssac

Definitely not!

it would not let me reply above so i am asking u on this thread........seriously what does smh stand 4?

Shaking My Head... lol... :-)

Remember when his FILA shoes were the one's to have?

Just because someone puts a microphone in your face, it doesn't mean you must speak.

or something like that...

My sentiments exactly!!!

Looks like they'll have to use Van Horn's contract now. How can you not go through with the deal now? JKidd'll beat every woman in the swamp if he has to stay there.

LOL...yeah...if he has to put on a Nets uniform next season (or maybe even sometime before the end of this season), he will NOT be a happy camper for sure... But using Van Horn's contract? What, he's gonna have to come out of retirement to be part of the trade? How crazy is that? How are they gonna work that out without any trickery, which the NBA is really looking for now... Like I said...this is turning out to be a colossal mess!

what
a
dumbass

Well, I just saw him checking in at the MGM in Las Vegas this morning.
Perhaps he wants to press his luck.

u were in lv?

Yeah, for a little shopping trip... Good clean fun.

what in the world lol. ur livin the life arent ya
haha

Lebron James is crying out for Kidd why won't management listen?

If Cleveland is an acceptable option for Jason, and I don't know why it wouldn't be, then management definitely should listen. With all the Mavericks soap opera issues going on with this trade, it would be a good time for Cleveland to try to get Jason. They'd probably get him, if they can afford him. That's just a fact, though I do like the Mavs.

What an idiot! That's just not good thought process.
