Coming into the year, the Hornets were expected to be in contention for a playoff spot. Heck, they almost stole one last year without the services of Chris Paul and David West for extended periods of time. Oh yeah, and Peja Stojakovic too. Now, four games in, the Hornets are looking like they may be able to fight for a fifth seed or better.

The Spurs will have no answer for West

Yes, I agree. The Hornets don't have anyone who can guard Manu Ginobili. He will probably flail and flop his way to 25-30 points in every game of this series. On the flip side though, I would like for someone to point out to me who on the Spurs roster even has a chance of holding down the mighty David West

Rick Barry Interview

I caught up with Rick Barry just after the conclusion of the NWBA All-Star Game; he served as an honorary coach for the victorious West squad. I first interviewed Barry several years ago and he told me at that time that the only basketball statistic that cannot be manipulated is free throw percentage; every other stat is either subjective to some degree and/or can easily be recorded...

The Hornets beat the Cavs

What a finish.I was just about ready to criticize David West's performance against the Cavaliers tonight. He couldn't get a body on Anderson Varejao all game, didn't get his first rebound until the third quarter, passed up several open jumpers, shot the ball poorly and never figured out the double te...

Chris Paul was outstanding again as he led the way for the Hornets with 32 points, 5 rebounds, 17 assists and 3 steals. David West also had an outstanding game with 27 points, 4 rebounds a...

Spurs face the West’s best

I thought New Orleans would be good this season. I liked the nucleus of Chris Paul, Peja Stojakovic, Tyson Chandler and David West. Surround those four with a decent supporting cast and you have a contender. However, I didn’t think they would be this good. They are one of the biggest surprises...

The Hornets are for real (via ArmchairGM)

Dirtlocker points for: Tyson Chandler, Melvin Ely, Jannero Pargo, Chris Paul, Peja Stojakovic, David West Let me start off by saying that until they are eliminated, the San Antonio Spurs remain the favorites to win the NBA title.
