dallasnews.com:
All of a sudden, Erick Dampier has gone from backup center to Marcin Gortat to the starting lineup.
So what kind of Dampier will the Mavs see this season? He has a non-guaranteed contract for 2010-2011, so this season is a contract year of sorts for Dampier.
That may bode well for the Mavericks. Dampier's last contract year was 2003-04. He averaged 12.3 points and 11.9 rebounds. It's still his best season in the NBA and it earned him the long-term deal with Dallas.
I'm not expecting those kinds of numbers from Dampier this upcoming season. But can he come close? How well do you think he'll do?

Dallas Mavericks Lose Out on Marcin Gortat, a Small Part of Me Dies
Congratulations Otis Smith. You've managed to do what only the NBA referees have been able to do. You have caused basketball to disgust me.
Not the game itself, but the process. The concept of a restricted free agent. The whole city of Orlando. Anyone with the name "Otis." I hate you all.
Not only did you do something stupid, Mr. Smith, but it was downright cruel...
