The lakers will not win,no legit big man. kobe can't do it all---leon----the diesel, the sun will rise in phoenix--legit power forward and sharp shooters, from the outside.

Good call on that one, guy

Number one seed and the best shot they have had since Shaq left L.A. I don't think we want to hear any excuses from LA and Kobe if they don't do something now.

Yeah, It's really going to surprise me if they manage to win it.

GOO SUNS

YAY Suns fans!

hater

haters..... Bynum was killing it before he got hurt... If he gets back in there, and starts playing from where he left off then the Lakers will be fine... Gasol not a playoff performer??? Who knows? For all we know he might go out there and put up 28 a game in the play offs... the Lakers have as good of a shot as everybody else in the west. the suns will get beat in the first round.... You guys can have "the diesel" he needs to retire anyway.

LAKERS WILL OWN ALL!!!

Thanks guys, it's obvious you gave it a read.

Um, that's what we do.

Yea I read it and you sound like a hater. Pau didnt win with the Grizzlies... Who else do/did the grizz have with Pau?? Nobody. Tracy has Yao! Not this year but every other year he was in. You cant compare that.

Let's re-name this article, "why I HOPE the Lakers will not win the NBA title this season"

I can't stand the Lakers as much as the next girl - but the likely hood of them winning is a little higher than you are giving them credit for.

I have to disagree with everything said in this article. I'm a SUNS fan and the Lakers are the one team that I don't want to see in the playoffs. I pray daily that Dallas can take them out in the 2nd round. They have the most talent in the league outside of Detroit and Phoenix is a distant 3rd, but the bench doesn't play so it hardly matters.

well then the Jazz

I think the Rockets have a better chance of even thinking about knocking the Lakers out than the Jazz do.

Rockets look like they won't get past Utah after last night. They just gave up home court advantage and I think Utah will take that one.

Well it is only 1-0, all Houston has to do is steal one on the road and they get home court advantage right back. But the Jazz do have an unbelievable record at home, so I'm not saying it's going to be easy. I'm just pulling for tmac to get out of the first round.

Won't be easy now, for sure. I think Utah is underestimated. I think they make the second round with ease. Houston had a great winning streak during the season, but they haven't done much in the past month. If they let Utah have the next game, it could be an early exit.

Dallas would play your Suns if they make it to the second round...

From what I saw last night, Dallas is going out early again. Second half problems and another point guard eating their lunch as in previous series is not good.

Not to mention David West humiliated Dirky Dirk which just proves that Dallas is soft. Jerry Sloan would have put Dirk on the bench for lettin' some young guy put his hand in his face without severe retribution. That just shouldn't happen. I don't give a hoot if fighting isn't allowed. On top of that, your teammates better have your back. David West should have been punished.

I see your point but what if Dirk had fought back just to prove a point? He could have then conceivably been suspended and that's not something Dallas can risk, they'd be screwed without Dirk.

Agreed. But who actually fights? They chest bump in a big crowd and wait to be pulled apart (i.e. Cavs & Wiz). I'm not advocating an all out fight. But I am advocating that Dallas not allow itself to look like punks. David West was sending a message. He was outright telling them that the Hornets have no respect for the Mavs. And instead of Dirk, at least, pushing his hand away (and demanding some respect) - the whole team stuck their heads in the sand and got their butts kicked. Some may disagree, but to me (as a former player and coach), that says a lot about who they are as a team.

And if Dirk gets supsended? What then? It's always the guy that relaliates that gets in trouble.

a simple slap of his hand wouldve sufficed FIVE, not technical worthy but the message wouldve been sent, but he aint do it.

Thanks, Still. Your exactly right.

the big white guy got intimidated by the black guy.......always knew dirk was soft.....just doesnt have that killer instinct

imagine if west did that to rasheed wallace........lord have mercy!!!!

LMAO. Right!

one can only hope

Lakers will not pass the first roun GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO denver nuggets ya dig

Pau with Kobe will equate to playoff greatness.

It's not gonna matter, unless the Nuggets learn how to play some defense real soon it's not gonna happen. The Lakers defend to well and are to smart to get into a shoot out with the Nuggets, they will put the pressure on them and make them play some half court defense, and pick and chose there points to run.

I think we're seeing that Denver lack of defense as we write.

Wow - you can eat your words now. Pau not a playoff performer eh? Considering he's the first laker to have numbers like his today since Worthy?

Nuggets truly do suck, and game 1 today just proved it.

Oh trust me, they've already been eaten and fully digested. The Lakeshow came to play today, make no mistake. And the Nuggets...well, let's just say they didn't bother.

hey "TheBoss" ...128-114 Owned...Thats all i got to say and thats all you're gonna see in the series so you might wanna keep your hands away from your keyboard or you're just gonna look retarded!

I love when the Lakers back me up.... If Bynum comes back next round, which I think he wont, but if he does the lakers will be very hard to beat...

Are their any updates on Bynum? Last I heard he wasn't even cleared to practice with the team. Is it likely that he wont be back for the rest of the season?

Word is that the earliest he can play is the Western Conference Finals. Even then, I doubt he'll be instantly effective.

By the way, the Lakers ALREADY are very hard to beat!

They said he will be back in the next round, but I think they are saying that so the team(if they make it) in the next round will put him in the scouting report and make him somebody that they have to spend time talking about... You know what I mean??? That was hard to say...

Although we have alot of good competition in the west I believe that the Lakers will be the last ones standing in the west. I say this because I am a huge Laker fan I would want nothing more than to see them win the West. The Lakers have really come together since the acquisition of Paul Gasol. I only hope that Bynum will be ready for the next round because with him in the lineup I think they are unstopable. I predict the Lakers and Celtics in the finals. Now that will be a good match up to watch. I remember back in the day the East Coast / West Coast rivalry between the Lakers and Celtics....exciting basketbal!

I think it would be better for Bynum to sit it out for the rest of the postseason and come back rejuvenated next season.

Didn't have to "see Devner's lack of defense as I write"......it's a fact...hell even Denver knows they can't play defense. Anyone who thought Denver had a chance in this series is either a homer, or just doesn't know much about basketball.
