Found August 04, 2009 on MVN:
The Washington Wizards revealed their 2009-2010 regular season schedule today and it begins with two road games, in Dallas on October 27 and then in Atlanta against the Hawks. The team makes it's home season premier on Halloween night against the NJ Nets at 7 PM. The 2009-10 schedule features 16 national television appearances (eight on NBATV, seven on ESPN, one on TNT). Overall, the Wizards will play 22 of their 41 home contests on the weekend (Friday-Sunday).Washington's appearances on ESPN and TNT include Nov. 4 vs. Miami (ESPN, 7:00 p.m.), Nov. 18 vs. Cleveland (ESPN, 7:00 p.m.), Nov. 27 at Miami (ESPN, 7:00 p.m.), Dec. 10 vs. Boston (TNT, 8:00 p.m.), Dec. 18 at Golden State (ESPN, 10:30 p.m.), March 7 at Boston (ESPN, 8:00 p.m.), April 7 at Orlando (ESPN, 8:00 p.m.), and April 14 vs. Indiana (ESPN, 8:00 p.m.)....The Wizards will host each team in the Eastern Conference twice with the exception of Cleveland and Toronto (the Wizards will travel to Chicago and Philadelphia only once). The team's longest road trip of the season is four games (done twice), while Washington will have a season-high six-game homestand from Jan. 16 - Jan. 26 (their longest homestand since a seven-game stretch from Jan. 24 - Feb. 6, 2004).All home games will tip off at 7:00 p.m. with the exception of the Sunday and Martin Luther King Day matinee games (1:00 p.m.), Sunday, April 4 vs. New Jersey (6:00 p.m.), two of the nationally-televised contests (Dec. 10 vs. Boston on TNT and April 14 vs. Indiana on ESPN will both start at 8:00 p.m.) and Jan. 30 vs. New York (8:00 p.m.).Good enough. Let's hope we get a chance to see a healthy Wizards team knock the crap out of Lebron and the Traveliers at least once this season.

My Thoughts On Marbury

The always insightful Brendan Haywood asks the same thing we've all been wondering over the last couple of weeks: 'What is wrong with Stephon Marbury?!!!'

Brendan Haywood opens a can of whup-ass

Speaking to Mike Wise on his daily radio show, Wizards center Brendan Haywood went after former coach/sparring partner Eddie Jordan with the biggest stick he's got."Let me ask you a question though," he said. "If a coach and a player aren't seeing eye to eye, why is it always the player's fault? I never ever said anything negative about Eddie Jordan, but...

The Eight-Man Rotation Is Coming

Wizards Coach Flip Saunders began building relationships with his players even before the team officially hired him. It started with a few text messages with Gilbert Arenas. Since he's been hired, Saunders has worked out individually with some of his players, offered personal instruction and traded text messages from time to time to give and receive updates. But in the past few...

The Important Game I Forgot To Highlight

Kaboom! Guess who stepped in the room?!! (Photo by Glenn James/NBAE via Getty Images) In my list of Washington Wizards games to watch for the 2009-10 season, I left off one game that probably stands out more than them all -- the season opener against Dallas. The Wizards are one of eight teams to open the NBA season on Oct. 27 and the American Airlines Center is where the Wizards...

DeShawn Stevenson says an 80% Gilbert = #1 in the East

“This whole team revolves around Gilbert Arenas. Everybody knows it. Nobody wants to say it, but I’m going to say it. I’ve been on this team four years — it depends on Gilbert Arenas. We can make as many trades as we want to. When he’s healthy and he’s playing, we’re a dangerous team. When [...]

Stevenson Unplugged

Listen up! (Ned Dishman/NBAE via Getty Images) When you're talking with a guy who had the gumption to call LeBron James "overrated," you can expect that DeShawn Stevenson had a lot more to say than I could fit into Sunday's 20-inch feature story. Stevenson displayed a pretty decent attitude about the changes the Washington Wizards have made this summer, especially...

DeShawn Stevenson: “This Whole Team Revolves Around Gilbert Arenas”

When Austin wrote a couple weeks ago that the Wizards would be crashing the 2010 postseason party as a seventh or eighth seed, a lot of people disagreed. Not because they thought the Wizards would be back in the lottery, but rather that people were thinking they could legitimately get homecourt advantage in the first [...]

Early tests in rebound year

The first stop on the Washington Wizards' redemption tour will be in Dallas. The NBA released its 2009-10 schedule Tuesday, with the Wizards opening the season Oct. 27 at the Mavericks and then visiting the Hawks before making their home debut against the Nets on Oct. 31. The early portion of the Wizards' schedule features two games against LeBron James, Shaquille O'Neal...

Wizards 10 Most Intriguing Games for the 2009-2010 Season

The 2008-2009 Washington Wizards season was a major letdown. Injuries to key players like Gilbert Arenas and Brendan Haywood made another playoff appearance under Eddie Jordan a near impossibility in the revitalized Easter Conference. The team got off to a slow start, and someone had to be the scapegoat, so management decided to fire Eddie Jordan, a very solid coach in the NBA. To...

DeShawn Stevenson Knows How The Wizards' Bread is Buttered

DeShawn Stevenson is neither hot nor cold to me. Sometimes, he can be a productive force on the basketball court, and sometimes he can be lost in his own delusions of talent. Sometimes he can say provocative and meaningful things, and sometimes, he can be Captain Bojangles. In spite of his dueling perspectives on professionalism and life, one could argue that this upcoming season...
