DA BEARS AND BULLS BLOG :
Aaron Gray was a Bulls second round pick 4 years ago. He came into the league as an overweight finesse post player. Since then he’s slimmed down and has become a serviceable backup/ third center in this league. He’s averaging a career high 4 points per game and plying 14.6 minutes a game down in New Orleans.
Devin Brown played in 11 games for us last season and is currently out of the league. His skill set would seem to be desirable especially for this current team. He’s a defensive specialist with 3 point range.
Obviously, New Orleans got the better end of this deal for the simple fact that Aaron is still in the league and Devin Brown is not. Let’s look at it a different way though. If we still had Aaron, you’d be much more willing to do an Asik for Courtney Lee swap which would help this team. Having Gray and Lee would be better than just having Lee with Asik gone. Check out my Asik Lee Trade analysis to read more on my thoughts of this.
