Adam Morrison will look to make the roster for Portland this season.

It doesn’t seem like that long ago that Adam Morrison was one of the faces of college basketball at Gonzaga. The number 3 overall pick in the 2006 Draft never really had much of an impact in the league, joining the many college players who struggle to find their place in the NBA.
The Portland Trail Blazers are giving Adam Morrison a chance to make the team, but nothing is guaranteed. He had an impressive summer league showing, but that won’t earn him a spot.
Sadly, it looks like his playing days may soon be over.According to the Gonzaga star, he will retire if he doesn’t make the Blazers.
“I’m going to finish school and start coaching (If he didn’t make the Trail Blazers roster)… I did the Europe thing and it just wasn’t for me,” Morrison told CSNNW.com. “Not saying the (Europe) culture or anything like that, (or) the people, it just wasn’t for me. So, yeah, if it doesn’t work out, I’m willing to look myself in the mirror and say, ‘I gave it a honest shot’ and turn the page. Do something else.”
This sounds like a guy who is genuinely tired of the stresses of trying to hang on to a fringe roster spot in an extremely competitive business. Can you really blame him?
It would really be a great story for Adam Morrison to make the team and have an impact for the Blazers this year. But if he doesn’t, at least he has some nice plans of what to do after he retires. That’s something a lot of players can’t say.
