Rick Adelman has not been on the bench with the Minnesota Timberwolves since January 5. For the most part, no one really knew why he was gone until yesterday when Adelman said it was because his wife was having seizures. Adelman had been keeping the personal matter very quiet over the last couple of weeks, obviously trying to keep it within the family. The scariest part of the whole ordeal is that doctors cannot figure out why Mary Kay Adelman is having these seizures or what’s been causing them. It's just a process now," Adelman said. "We don't know why. We have no clue why it happened. No one can figure it out. Now it's a matter of finding it out. How do you manage it? What do you do with it? How do you go forward? ... The good thing is she's home. Even though doctors still do not have an answer, Adelman feels comfortable that his wife is healthy enough that he was able to return to T-Wolves practice on Monday. During the 11-game span where Adelman was gone, Minnesota went 2-9, dropping well out of the playoff hunt. This situation reminds us that there are things much more important than basketball. I commend Adelman for taking the time away from the team to be with his wife and I’m sure he has the support from the rest of the organization as well. The Timberwolves, who have been dealing with a catastrophic number of injuries all season long, will try and get things back on track at home tonight against the Los Angeles Clippers. Minnesota has been playing well below expectations this season, and of course you can blame the injuries, but they are hoping that having their leader back on the bench will spark a change in the team. He's our coach,” said center Nikola Pekovic. “He's the main guy and I know that there's a lot more confidence in the guys and with everything with him on the bench.” Image: SB Nation [follow]
