It was probably only a matter of time before the Los Angeles Lakers got healthy and figured it out. Tuesday night, the Milwaukee Bucks just happened to be in their way. A sluggish offensive night, missed free throws and turnovers gave the Bucks little chance to compete with a Lakers group that seems to be hitting their stride. Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard combined for 62 points and were a combined 26 of 37 from the field as the Lakers turned a six-point lead after three quarters into a 104-88 victory. "We just didn't have our A-game today," Bucks coach Jim Boylan said. "Our guys fought hard and it was just one of those games that slipped away from us." If Milwaukee was going to keep up with Bryant and Howard, it was going to have to have Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis on their games. But the Bucks' top duo was just a combined 10 of 30 from the field and Milwaukee shot just 35.8 percent as a team. The Lakers made it a point to take Jennings out o...

Kobe: Nobody beats me one-on-one

The Black Mamba says no one, not even LeBron James, can't take him in a one-on-one matchup, but he does say one current NBA player might give him trouble.

Lakers 104, Bucks 88

Dwight Howard had 31 points and 16 rebounds, Kobe Bryant also scored 31 points and the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Milwaukee Bucks 104-88 Tuesday night for their second straight win after a six-game skid. Metta World Peace added 12 points as the Lakers prepared for Thursday's visit from the NBA champion Miami Heat with an impressive effort against the Bucks, who lost for the...

Kobe says he Hasn’t Studied Jordan’s Tapes since ’99

Kobe Bryant has modeled his entire career off Michael Jordan’s, so it comes as a bit of a surprise that Kobe (through his own admission) hasn’t studied Jordan’s tapes in years. “Wow, it’s been a while. Probably not since 1999. I used to watch a bunch, but that was a long time ago…for me the comparisons didn’t work because our situations were totally different. I came...

Kobe Admits It’s Been The Most Physically Taxing Season Of His Career

16-year veteran Kobe Bryant admits this has been one of the most physically taxing seasons of his career: “It’s the most challenging in terms of trying to figure out which button to push to try to get us turned around, from a leadership perspective,” Bryant said. “Physically, it’s probably the most taxing one.” But can he keep it up, at age 34, playing 39 minutes a game...

Boylan third Bucks coach to win in Phoenix

Jim Boylan decided to change things up. Who could blame him? Nothing else has worked in Phoenix the last 24 times the Milwaukee Bucks have played there. This time around unlike previous years Boylan and the team didn't talk about the fact that Milwaukee hadn't won in the Valley of the Sun since 1987. Only after the clock hit zero at US Airways Center was it time to talk...

Suns look to keep 26-year streak alive vs. Bucks

Jim Boylan won his first game as Milwaukee Bucks interim coach when they beat the Phoenix Suns last week. Now he'll look to accomplish something his nine predecessors weren't able to achieve against the Suns. Milwaukee seeks its first victory in Phoenix in nearly 26 years Thursday night as it looks to win for the fourth time in six games under Boylan. The Bucks and former...

Kobe Bryant responds to LeBron James saying that the Heat endured more criticism than the Lakers

Remember back in the summer of 2010 when LeBron James decided to take his talents to South Beach?  Remember when the Miami Heat then held a pep rally and LeBron James himself stated that they’re going to win “not 2…not 3…not 4…not 5…not 6…not 7″ NBA championship titles?  They claimed [...]

Kobe Gets Most Votes As NBA All-Star Team Starters Revealed

Once again the “Black-Mamba” (still the coolest nickname in modern sports) led the way in the voting as “NBA.com” announced the starting lineups for next month’s All-Star Game in Houston, on Thursday night. Los Angeles Lakers veteran guard Kobe Bryant, will appear in his 15th straight All-Star game, a new Association record, as he breaks a four-way tie, he became part...

Bucks haven't won in Phoenix since 1987

When asked about Milwaukee's decades-long losing streak in Phoenix, Bucks coach Jim Boylan joked that Franklin Delano Roosevelt was president the last time the team won in the Valley of the Sun. OK, it was actually Ronald Reagan in the Oval Office. On Feb. 21, 1987 at the Arizona Veteran's Memorial Coliseum, the Bucks rode the hot hands of point guard John Lucas and sixth...
