Al-Farouq Aminu is finally getting minutes.
Al-Farouq Aminu may finally be out of the doghouse in New Orleans. In his last two games, Aminu has played 31 and 39 minutes respectively.
Earlier in the season, Aminu was posting versatile lines, but ended up in Monty Williams' doghouse. On the season, he's averaging 7.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.2 steals and .4 blocks. Here are his last two lines:
January 5 vs. Dallas: 10 points (3-6 FG and 4-4 FT), 13 rebounds, three assists, three steals and a block in 39 minutes.
January 2 vs. Houston: Eight points (3-8 FG and 2-4 FT), eight rebounds and an assist.
Aminu is worth keeping an eye on, especially after his November. In 13 games, he averaged 9.8 points (49.5 FG% and 74.1 FT%), 7.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.8 steals and .5 blocks. If he's pulling these numbers, he's a solid cross-category contributor (except in three-pointers made).
