The Utah Jazz’ front court just got a lot less crowded today thanks to the departure of Al Jefferson. Marc Stein of ESPN reported today on twitter that Al Jefferson has verbally agreed to a 3 year, $41M deal with the Charlotte Bobcats, with the ability to opt out in the 3rd and final year of his contract.
This is a good move for the Charlotte Bobcats who are in desperate need of a quality big man and a veteran leader. Al Jefferson fills both of those needs for the Bobcats. There is no doubt that a trio of Kemba Walker, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, and Al Jefferson could prove to be promising and potentially lead to some playoff success. Especially in a weak Eastern Conference.
