A.B. As of last weekend, Paul Pierce is officially no longer a member of the Boston Celtics. Considered by many to be one of the top 5 Celtics players of all time, Pierce spent the last 15 years as a member of the Green. During that span Pierce won an NBA Championship in 2008 and scored over 20,000 career points. So while Pierce’s career will continue, “The Truth” will take his talents to Brooklyn to play for the rival Nets. And while goodbyes can be sad, make no mistake about it: The #34 will never be worn by another Boston Celtic and will hang in the rafters at TD Garden someday soon. And the feeling is mutual. Paul Pierce truly loves the fans and the city of Boston and took to Instagram today to show it. He posted 27 straight #ThankyouBoston pictures: Sidenote – I love the picture of Pierce celebrating with Jason Kidd disgusted in the background. Yes, the same Jason Kidd that will be Pierce’s coach next year. Nice little jab there #34.
