Hoping to add a bit of Big Apple flavor to the Erie BayHawks, the Knicks' D-League affiliate hosted open tryouts at Baruch College in New York City on Saturday.Over 60 participants packed the gym, each one aiming to prove their worth and earn a shot playing professional basketball. With the D-League representing the best chance for young prospects to reach The Association, each player had a simple long-term goal: make it to the NBA.Knicks Assistant General Manager (and BayHawks G.M.) Allan Houston was present at the tryouts, and he too certainly had his own goals in mind. The Knicks legend and current executive told KnicksJournal.com that he hoped to help the BayHawks embrace the Knicks' already present culture and mentality. What's more, in the interest of bridging the gap between the NBA squad and its D-League affiliate, Houston also said that newly hired BayHawks head coach Gene Cross had already met and talked with Knicks head coach Mike Woodson. With the Knicks' r...

Rasheed Wallace has been working out with the Knicks, and according to reports, he's coming out of retirement to sign with the team.

Iman Shumpert Sports Incredible Flat-Top Afro for New York Knicks (Photo)

Iman Shumpert is the coolest person in the NBA. The New York Knicks guard sported an awesome flat-top afro and tweeted a photo of it on Monday. His 'do trumped all the serious news, like Andrew Bynum missing three weeks as a precaution after undergoing a knee procedure. Seriously, one look at Shumpert's hairstyle makes any discussion of platelet-rich plasma injections impossible...

Rasheed Wallace reportedly coming out of retirement to join Knicks

Rasheed Wallace reportedly is coming out of retirement to join the Knicks. The 38-year-old versatile forward hasn’t played in the NBA the last two seasons. He averaged 9 points and 4.1 rebounds per game while shooting 40.9% from the field in the 2009-2010 season for the Celtics. Although he looked old and ineffective that season (and embarrassing), the Knicks appear to be interested...

Report: Wallace to sign with Knicks

Carmelo Anthony will score less this upcoming NBA season

In an article by the Wall Street Journal, New York Knicks small forward Carmelo Anthony has vouched to score less points.  There is no doubt that he is an offensive-minded player and can jack up shots without a care.  Carmelo is finally grasping the idea of team ball by scoring fewer points to let his other teammates help pitch in offensively. In an interview with the WSJ, Carmelo...

Do the Knicks have a need for Sheed?

Now this is a nice little bit of NBA news on a rainy afternoon. Reports are saying that Rasheed Wallace is coming out of retirement to join the New York Knicks. Now he has not signed but he has passed the physical and a contract could be done any time. The ball don’t lie on this one I hope. I miss Sheed and his sound bytes. But can the old man who once was a low post monster,...

Ron Hornaday, Jr. Smith’s 350 Race Recap

Ron Hornaday went into the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) Smith’s 350 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS) as a dark horse with advertised odds of 25-1. Hornaday, a four-time series champion, has a history of working odds against him to his favor. However, Saturday night, the circumstances that kept him from overcoming those odds were beyond his control. Hornaday lost...
