New York Knicks forward Amar'e Stoudemire is known for not being a great defender, but he may have hit a new low during Tuesday night's game against Detroit during one defensive sequence where he completely lost track of the basketball. It happened during the third quarter as Stoudemire was playing zone defense and Pistons forward Josh Smith had the ball. Smith faked the jump shot and passed to Peyton Siva while Stoudemire turned to look for a rebound on Smith's "shot". As a result, Siva was able to drive to the basket while Stoudemire had his back turned. It shouldn't be a surprise that the Pistons beat the Knicks 92-86, dropping the Knicks to a 3-7 record to start the season.  At this point, you have to start wondering how the Knicks will turn things around.  H/T LBS. NBA scout on Jason Kidd: He doesn't do anything

NBA Scout: “Jason Kidd doesn’t do anything” The Brooklyn Nets are off to a terrible start this season under first year coach, Jason Kidd. But that hardly tells the story as fellow NBA observers are noticing the lack of coaching done by Kidd. It probably wasn’t a great idea by general manager Billy King to bring in a rookie head coach with zero experience to operate a veteran...

Knicks struggling with injuries; Felton still out

Knicks point guard Raymond Felton sat out during yesterday’s game against the Pacers due to hamstring soreness and a pinched nerve in his hip. This is the second game in a row Felton’s missed and it couldn’t have come at a more inopportune time with New York struggling to secure many victories. With Chandler (fractured right fibula), World Peace (sore knee) and now Felton ...

Game Recap – Knicks Lose Another Winnable Game

The New York Knicks lost in overtime to the Indiana Pacers by a score of 103-96. Whether it was for snapping their season-long losing streak or avenging last year’s postseason exit, the Knicks needed a win in the worst way tonight. Despite playing some of their best ball of the young season and controlling most of the game, the New York wasn’t able to close out Paul George and...

Carmelo Believes Shumpert Is Part Of Knicks' Future

Carmelo Anthony was asked Wednesday night whether he believes Iman Shumpert will be part of the New York Knicks' future despite rampant trade speculation. "I think he is," Anthony said. "We have a lot of expectations for Iman." The Knicks fell to 3-8 on the season in an overtime loss to the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday. Shumpert committed a foul late in the...

Game Preview – New York Knicks vs. Indiana Pacers

The New York Knicks (3-7) are home to the Indiana Pacers (9-1) to complete their Central Division back-to-back. Here’s what you need to know about the game. The Knicks were eliminated by the Pacers in six games in last year’s Eastern Conference Semifinals, and don’t think for one second that they forgot about it. I’m sure this one has been circled on the calendar for a while...

Melo and His Mental Game

By Stephanie S Carmelo Anthony is without a doubt the top player on the Knicks. Every team has a superstar: Melo is that guy. Being a 6-time All Star and a 3-time Olympic medalist, it seems inevitable that he would be a leader on the court as well as off; a versatile player who is good on either side of the ball and can pick up a team when they’re down. To be such a catalyst requires...

J.R. Smith is trying to rewrite history

Every time J.R. Smith picks up a basketball, there is only one word on his mind. *******************************,” he thinks to himself whenever his hands are given the opportunity. This has generally resulted in a mixed bag of daggers, laughs, and curse words for people all over the globe to enjoy. The 2013 season, however, has […]

Carmelo: Hard To Take Anything Positive Right Now

The New York Knicks lost their third straight game on Tuesday, dropping a 92-86 decision to the Detroit Pistons. “I thought effort was there at times,’’ Anthony said. “We’re losing. It’s a messed-up feeling, hurt feeling. We got to figure this out quick. “As the leader of this team, I feel I could do more.” The Knicks fell down by 15 points in the fourth quarter....

Open Thread Night: Fanatics Live Blog Knicks v. Detroit Pistons (7:30pm)

Chris Smith is gone to the D-League, but J.R. Smith may still want to defend his brother's honor against Pistons' point guard Brandon Jennings.  It is unlikely that the mercurial, and often immature J.R. Smith will say anything beyond a tweet or a twerp to Jennings, after he was hit with a $25,000 fine for hostilely and inappropriately using twitter to respond to...
