The Knicks of the last few weeks are the Knicks that the Celtics will be seeing in the opening round of the playoffs.
Knicks coach Mike Woodson said Thursday that Amar’e Stoudemire, who has been dealing with lingering knee injuries throughout the season and has been out for more than a month, is doubtful for the entire first-round series, according to ESPN.
“I think he’s going to be out,” Woodson said. “That’s my gut.”
Stoudemire had surgery March 11 to take care of debris in his right knee. He also missed the beginning of the regular season due to complications with his left knee and had played just 29 games this season before the March surgery was announced.
Stoudemire has been at practice but hasn’t been running or doing the full movement needed to get back to game speed.
The Knicks went 17-6 without Stoudemire to end the season.
