Amir Johnson and Ed Davis continue to produce in starting roles. In 37 minutes, Amir Johnson double-doubled with 18 points (7-12 FG, 4-4 FT) and 12 rebounds. He added an assist, a steal and a block. Johnson has dealt with an ankle injury but has played through it. He is t-o-u-g-h. Davis played 36 minutes, scoring 16 points on 8-of-12 shooting. He also grabbed nine rebounds, handed out an assist and swiped a ball. Their ownership percentages -- Johnson at 45 percent and Davis at 40 percent -- keep climbing. With Andrea Bargnani coming back in a week or two, we could be in for a logjam. Although, I'd like to believe the Raptors will stick with their young bigs.

Kyle Lowry more likely to be traded than Jose Calderon?

The Toronto Raptors are more willing to part with Kyle Lowry than Jose Calderon, according to CBS Sport's Ken Berger. The gist is that Lowry has been in Toronto for less than a year, and he's already worn out his welcome. As far as destinations, Berger says Lowry could land in Dallas or Atlanta since he has just $1 million of his contract guaranteed for next season. But...

Andrea Bargnani is a week or two away from returning

Andrea Bargnani is still a couple of weeks away from returning. Raptors beat writer Ryan Wolstat reported that Bargnani is getting shots up before games but still has pain in his injured elbow. Toronto coach Dwane Casey has said that Bargs will have a hard time getting the starting job back from Ed Davis, who has played well. Closer to returning is Jonas Valanciunas, who...

POTD 1/24/13: DeMaR DeRoZaN on E’Twaun Moore

It’s not about how you start, it’s about how you finish.  The old adage has kind of become an unfortunate theme for the 16-27 Raptors, as they’ve developed a habit of stealing defeat from the jaws of victory this season.  On Thursday, however, DeMaR DeRoZaN would change all that and deliver the Raptors their first buzzer-beating win in six long years.  DeRoZaN got off to...

Kyrie Irving's game-winner vs. Toronto

Cavs PG Kyrie Irving hits game winning shot over Toronto Raptors

Cavs point guard is having a fantastic individual year so far, bringing excitement back to Cleveland basketball. And has hit 5 game winning shots in his short career. Saturday night, it was the Toronto Raptors...

Kyrie Irving’s game-winning shot against Raptors

Uncle Drew is back to hitting game-winning shots. Irving drained a deep three pointer down by two points to sink the Toronto Raptors 99-98 on Saturday night. The was a cold-blooded shot by Irving even though the defender didn’t even get a hand in his face. This is the fifth game-winning shot by the 2013 All-Star in only two seasons in the league.

Cavs (12-32) at Raptors (16-27) - Game 45

OPENING TIP No East team outside the Central Division seems to give the Cavs more fits than the very mediocre Raptors, who have won four straight games at The Q. Fortunately for the Cavs, Saturdays game is in Toronto, where they typically fare better (although they dropped a 113-99 decision there earlier this year). But theres no denying the young Cavs are finding themselves, having...

Cavaliers-Raptors Preview

After dropping three of four very winnable games, the Toronto Raptors saw their hard work pay off last time out. Coach Dwane Casey believes his last-place team still has a chance to get back into contention with similar efforts going forward. The Raptors look for their momentum to carry over Saturday night as they go for a seventh win in nine matchups against the visiting Cleveland...
