Remember, folks, not all NBA players follow the Kris Humphries stereotype. Recently the Denver Nuggets’ Andre Iguodala sat down for an interview with GQ which, while largely sticking to basketball, does get into some off-topic subjects with the guard. So beyond learning what it’s like to play in the thin air of Denver and what Iguodala thinks of Jrue Holiday as a player, we also get some snippets on JaVale McGee‘s nerd status and how the 29-year-old dresses so well. And we also get to learn about Iguodala’s preference in ambiance, too. “I think it’s just once you’ve seen one you’ve seen it all,” he says in the Q&A. “With the exception of maybe Vegas or Miami once or twice, other than that it’s all the same to me. I can’t hear anything in the club with the loud music, so you’re in there and you’re like, ‘I CAN’T HEAR YOU BECAUSE OF THE LOUD MUSIC.’ I hate that, yelling back and forth. And I don’t drink, so it’s kind of pointless.” It was already public knowledge that Iguodala doesn’t drink, but his thoughs on McGee probably weren’t. Iguodala says that Denver’s center is a bit of a misunderstood character. “You have to be really smart to think the way he does,”  he says. “He’s a thinker, so his mind goes into a lot of different places, and I think that can be taken the wrong way when he’s on the court — he can be an over-thinker at times.” And, because it’s GQ, Iguodala was also asked about his sense of style. Specifically, he was asked how he compares to Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade, who often makes more headlines for his choice of clothing. “I always wanted to present myself well, and express my style with my clothes, as well as who I was as a basketball player. Since the dress code, guys have to dress the same way, but we express ourselves differently within that. That’s one thing that’s my definition of fashion, is that I want to express myself through clothes.” Photo of the Night Luis Tiant was on hand with the Red Sox Friday, signing autographs for some lucky fans.
