There were two “AI’s” in Philly. So the team traded the legend. There were then two “Andre’s” in Philly. So the team let the older one go. Now the 76ers finally will be alone with Andre Iguodala, and we’re not even sure if they’re entirely thrilled with the situation. But that’s a column for another day…
So the “sources” have spoken. Within the next day, Philly will allow its only point guard (above the age of 19) leave. Certainly, there’s the money issue — the team apparently didn’t want to lock up a 33-year-old for an alleged three years, $21 million. But ‘Dre was became the silent leader over the past two-and-a-half seasons. No doubt he’ll leave a huge hole in the Sixers backcourt… maybe one large enough only one Answer might temporarily fit. But that’s a column for another day as well…
