Amazing what a little addition by subtraction does for the Toronto Raptors. Remove Andrea Bargnani from the mix and they start winning.
Last night the Raps won a road game as they beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 113-99. Holy crap, that is three wins in a row.
Is this a sign of things to come or is this the classic Raptors tease that fans know all too well?
Tonight they could easily make it four in a row as they take on the Detroit Pistons, who are pretty much as bad as the Raptors are.
The downside of all this is, it is making Bargnani’s value drop as he clearly is not valuable to the team winning.
General Managers everywhere will be using this angle as they try and steal the Italian shooter for less than dirt.
So does the winning streak mean anything to the overall landscape of the NBA? Nope, not a bit. It will be chalked up to an easy stretch in the schedule.. But wins are wins. Maybe it is all an early Christmas present for the fans.
Sports Interaction still has the Raptors listed at the bottom of the futures odds right there with Washington and those same Cavs they beat last night.
Hey I guess it could be a lot worse. You could be a fan of the Los Angeles Lakers where they were expected to win it all and currently look like dog ****.

These are weird times in Toronto.
In the last two weeks, the Raptors have seen quite a lot. Reserve forward Amir Johnson got tossed for a bizarre incident in which the referee would not let him feel the ball after another player’s free throw attempt. Amid a winless five-game road trip, the team called a meeting to address the many issues and grievances, and the rousing result of...
Andrea Bargnani's recent comments about the Toronto Raptors' ineptitude may have been somewhat accurate at the time, but his teammates are doing their part to change it.
While they may still be among the worst teams in the NBA, the Raptors are on the brink of their longest winning streak in more than two years, and a visit from the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night should...

CLEVELAND -- Raptors coach Dwane Casey took a few moments prior to Tuesdays game in Cleveland to answer some questions about his team, as well as the Cavaliers. The Raptors (6-19) have won two straight overall -- but have lost 11 consecutive road games.
Question:How is rookie center Jonas Valanciunas doing?
Casey: Hes coming along. Hes a typical rookie -- hes had some good moments...
Landry Fields will return to the lineup tonight in what will be just his sixth game with Toronto. The Raptors guard has missed the last six weeks after undergoing ulnar nerve transposition surgery to address compression/entrapment in his right elbow. He will dress tonight when the Raptors take on the Cavaliers in Cleveland.
It has been eight long years since Vince Carter was traded to the New Jersey Nets, but basketball fans in Toronto have yet to forgive or forget what happened. A return to Toronto for a season would allow him to mentor the team’s younger player and earn back the good favour of basketball fans here in Canada. Then, when he retires, Carter can have his number hanging in the ACC where it belongs.
CLEVELAND -- When Jose Calderon sees the Cleveland Cavaliers, his eyes light up. The Toronto Raptors' veteran point guard continued his recent domination over the Cavs with a season-high 23 points in their 113-99 victory before 13,233 at Quicken Loans Arena. Calderon also dished out six assists, had five rebounds and two steals, as the Raptors (7-19) snapped an 11-game losing...
TORONTO (AP) -- DeMar DeRozan had 23 points, Alan Anderson scored 12 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter and the Toronto Raptors beat the Detroit Pistons 97-91 Wednesday night, extending their winning streak to four games.
Jose Calderon had 17 assists, one shy of his season high, and Jonas Valanciunas scored 12 points for the Raptors, who last won four straight from Nov. 17-24...
CLEVELAND (AP) -- Jose Calderon scored a season-high 23 points, and the Toronto Raptors won on the road for the second time this season by beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 113-99 on Tuesday night.
The Raptors snapped an 11-game skid on the road, winning away from home for the first time since Nov. 13 when they beat Indiana. Toronto, which is 2-14 on the road, has also won three in...

The Raptors' four-game win streak is their longest since November of 2010.
CLEVELAND -- Toronto point guard Jose Calderon continued his recent domination of the Cavaliers, scoring 23 points in the Raptors' 113-99 victory over Cleveland on Tuesday. Calderon added six assists and five rebounds as the Raptors (7-19) snapped an 11-game road losing streak. Cleveland came into the game one of the league's worst road teams, 1-14. Last night Jose Calderon dropped 23/5/6 with 2 steals and 3 threes. Is it just me or has Jose Calderon been the greatest point guard in the history of fantasy basketball this year whey Kyle Lowry misses games? Jeez, I swear he is. So I decided to look at his numbers this season when he’s started, here you go: 11 games, 37 mpg/14 ppg/11 apg/4.2 rpg/1 spg/2.2 3pm/.479 FG/.833...
