Anthony Edwards Would Get A Tattoo Of Rudy Gobert's Face If It Guarantees That Timberwolves Win The 2024 NBA Title

Anthony Edwards is determined to win an NBA Championship with the Minnesota Timberwolves. His willingness to sacrifice for a title knows few bounds, with the Wolves star claiming he'd get a tattoo of Rudy Gobert's face on him if it meant the Wolves would win a guaranteed title.

"Yeah, probably on my arm or some sh*t."

Edwards might not need to go that far, with his play on the court showing he could lead the team to the title and be crowned Finals MVP in the process. He's averaging 32.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 5.8 assists through the six consecutive wins the Wolves have rattled off to open the 2024 Playoffs.

Edwards and the Wolves are on the verge of eliminating the biggest threat in the West as they lead the Denver Nuggets 2-0 after the first two games in Denver. The home team has only made five successful comebacks from a 0-2 deficit in NBA history, so the pressure is on the Wolves to see this series win through as Games 3 and 4 will be played in Minnesota.

Anthony Edwards Coming Into Game 3 With An Aggressive Mentality

Edwards is ready to take full control of this series with a 3-0 lead, something that no team in NBA history has successfully overturned. The Wolves know they're on the precipice of the second Conference Finals appearance in franchise history and won't let the moment slip.

Edwards is well aware of how dangerous the Nuggets can be and made it clear that the Wolves aren't taking them lightly despite the lead.

"They're not gonna come out and play like that again in Game 3. We gotta be ready to take their punch. And I always tell the team when we huddle up, and (Chris Finch) say, 'We gotta be ready to take they punch', I say, 'We gonna punch too'. Sh*t, they not the only one punching in the fight. So I mean, yeah, just like that. They not the only one that is gonna coming out punching."

Edwards made it clear that even a Game 3 win won't be enough for the Wolves to take their foot off the gas.

"I don't give a damn if we go up 3-0. For Game 4 we gonna come out punching, too. So they gotta be ready to take our punch and we will be ready to take their punch. I don't see no slippage in their games. They just missed shots tonight. They'll be ready to go (in) Game 3 and we will be."

If the Wolves advance past the Nuggets, they would be serious contenders for the title. They'd likely be favored over the Mavericks or Thunder depending on who makes it to the Conference Finals. If they make it to the Finals, it won't be easy to overcome a team like the Celtics, but if Boston is eliminated by anybody else before that, it might make the Wolves the overall title favorites this season.
