A person familiar with the situation says forward Al-Farouq Aminu has agreed to a 1-year extension with the New Orleans Pelicans. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Saturday because NBA rules prevent the deal from becoming official until July 10. The extension was first reported by the Times-Picayune, which said the deal was for $3.7 million. The 6-foot-9 Aminu, heading into his fourth NBA season, started 71 games last year. He averaged career highs of 7.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per game, with season-highs of 20 rebounds and 18 points. Aminu was drafted eighth overall out of Wake Forest in 2010 by the Los Angeles Clippers. He came to New Orleans as part of a 2011 trade that sent Chris Paul to the Clippers.

Another Big 3 Team Trade

The Pelicans (I still can’t believe I have to type that name) acquired Tyreke Evans yesterday in another big 3 team swap. The Kings were given General Greivis Vasquez and 2 second round picks, and the Trailblazers received Robin Lopez and Terrell Harris (the Pels also got Jeff Withey). It’s a curious move for a team that just successfully traded for another, much better point...

New Orleans Pelicans going all-in with Tyreke Evans acquisition

Last summer, the New Orleans Pelicans paid Eric Gordon a ton of money to stay in town and drafted Anthony Davis with the first overall pick in the NBA Draft.  Their makeover continued when they acquired Jrue Holiday on draft night and another dimension is added with the sign-and-trade acquisition of Tyreke Evans.  The Pelicans are certainly being aggressive and building a terrific...

Well it turns out that the Kings were very uncomfortable with the idea of...
