Arron Afflalo played his best game of the season in Thursday night's 109-101 loss to the Golden State Warriros. Afflalo went off for 26 points and five threes, but didn't do much else (he grabbed two rebounds). His shooting was excellent (8-of-16 from the field and 5-of-5 from the charity stripe).
Afflalo has underperformed all year, but the Nuggets' loss of Danilo Gallinari for a month is going to mean a whole lot more shots for Afflalo. Thursday night's game could be the beginning of a full-on break out for Afflalo, who's dealt with ankle and foot injuries as well as missing training camp.
It's hard to blame owners for giving up on him (I traded him in one league), but I'll be looking for him on the waiver wire in other leagues.
Also keep an eye on Kenneth Faried, who started at power forward and grabbed 10 boards. The rookie from Morehead State also scored eight points and blocked a shot (he's a shot-blocking specialist). He's not a bad speculative add.
