Credit: Arron Afflalo played his best game of the season in Thursday night's 109-101 loss to the Golden State Warriros. Afflalo went off for 26 points and five threes, but didn't do much else (he grabbed two rebounds). His shooting was excellent (8-of-16 from the field and 5-of-5 from the charity stripe).

Afflalo has underperformed all year, but the Nuggets' loss of Danilo Gallinari for a month is going to mean a whole lot more shots for Afflalo. Thursday night's game could be the beginning of a full-on break out for Afflalo, who's dealt with ankle and foot injuries as well as missing training camp.

It's hard to blame owners for giving up on him (I traded him in one league), but I'll be looking for him on the waiver wire in other leagues.

Also keep an eye on Kenneth Faried, who started at power forward and grabbed 10 boards. The rookie from Morehead State also scored eight points and blocked a shot (he's a shot-blocking specialist). He's not a bad speculative add.

All-Access: Mavs Clean Up On Nuggets

The Mavs entered Wednesday concerned about two specific things: 1) The Nuggets run like a track team. 2) The Nuggets depth means that track team is made up of relay sprinters passing the baton to one another. 'Denver runs the ball right up your a--,’’ Rick Carlisle said in preview. The Mavs responded in kind with maybe their finest win of the year, 105-95 ... And we've...

Chandler and Brooks might be stuck

During the lockout, when some of the NBA players went to make some money overseas, most of them were able to get clauses in their contracts that allowed them to return to their teams when the lockout was over. That wasn’t the case for the ones that played in China. Players such as Aaron Brooks, Wilson Chandler and J.R. Smith aren’t allowed to leave their Chinese teams until...

Denver misses on all-star selections

The Nuggets have been one of the better teams in the Western Conference, but they don't have a representative on the Western Conference all-star team.

Nuggets on rare four-game losing streak after falling to Mavs

Ty Lawson had 16 points and 10 asissts, but the Nuggets fell to the Dallas Mavericks 105-95 at Pepsi Center on Wednesday night. Nene also added a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Nuggets, who have dropped four straight games for the first time in five years.
