Newly minted Atlanta Hawks Head Coach Mike Budenholzer was arrested on DUI charges in Atlanta. Not only did Budenholzer refuse a breathalyzer, appears that police believe he was under the influence of “multiple substances.” Budenholzer reportedly told the officer that he had consumed one glass of wine about 15 minutes before he was pulled over for a broken tail light.  He faces charges concerning alcohol, drugs, “multiple substances” and tail lights installed on a vehicle, according to the Atlanta Municipal Court. In total, Budenholzer faces the following six charges: D.U.I./ALCOHOL (40-6-391.A1) D.U.I./DRUGS (40-6-391.A2) TAILLIGHTS INSTALLED ON VEH DUI – MULTIPLE SUBSTANCES-MISD (40-6-391.A4) D.U.I./ALCOHOL & DRUGS (40-6-391.A3) D.U.I. PERSON CONCENTRATION (40-6-391(A)5) President of Basketball Operations/General Manager Danny Ferry released the following statement: “Bud made us aware of the situation last night. We are in the process of gathering more information and will have further comment at the appropriate time.” Budenholzer’s previous position was as assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs. Yikes,  you haven’t even coached your first real game for the Hawks. Do coaches get suspended from games too?
