The Milwaukee Bucks must have forgotten that the 25 year old point guard was a “restricted” free agent (keyword restricted). After getting him to agree to a four year contract earlier this off season, the Bucks front office pretty much said all that was needed to be said to show their incumbent point guard Brandon Jennings that he was not needed anymore. Jennings, who was the most valuable piece left on the Bucks roster, was obviously second choice to Teague and his days in Milwaukee were coming to an immediate end. But wait, there was that small matter of Teague being restricted in the free agency market and the Atlanta Hawks decided to go ahead and match the Bucks’ offer.
