The Knicks Blog:
Posted in Kelenna AzubuikeLost in all the Carmelo chatter was a note from Alan Hahn about Kelenna Azubuike, who seems close to returning after the All-Star break.
“I feel closer than I’ve ever been,” Azubuike said as he walked off the court.
What’s more important is Mike D’Antoni, this time, agrees.
“He’s getting closer, that’s for sure,” D’Antoni said. “I didn’t think he’d even get this close. We’ll keep evaluating him and we’ll see after the all-star break how he’s doing and see if there’s some opportunities to get him on the floor.”
I haven’t seen him practice in a few weeks, but when I did he seemed to be going very gingerly on the leg. If he can go, that would be like adding a piece at the deadline, although it doesn’t fit the biggest team need of playoff experience, depth up front and backup point guard.
