Greg Monroe had an outstanding rebounding performance, snagging 18 (5 offensive) boards to accompany his 19 points, 6 assists and 1 block. You can forgive the 6 turnovers, because he’s had double digit rebounds in five of his past six games. The Pistons are just happy to win a game. With Andre Drummond seeing floor time and Monroe being a beast, there were concerns that Jason Maxiell was about to find his way to the curb, eventually dying in a gutter like Edgar Allan Poe (allegedly) did. Well, Maxiell did not take many shots (3) but finished with 8 points and, more importantly, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks. It was his season high in boards and assists and ties his season high for blocks. Can he repeat this performance? Well, the Pistons really beat up on the confusing Sixers team. Just to show how locked in Detroit was and how disorganized Philly was, the Pistons outscored them 47.9% to 28.8%. So, we take a wait and see approach. He is currently averaging 9.3 PPG, 5.6 RPG and...

We’ve all seen the clip of Michael Jordan shooting a foul shot with his eyes closed. It’s impressive, I guess, but he’s the best basketball player to have ever lived. Greg Monroe, while a nice player, is far from Michael Jordan. But tonight, he tried to be half of Michael Jordan by shooting a free throw with one eye closed. The 0-7 Pistons traveled to Philadelphia to...
After getting poked in the eye in the second quarter of the Pistons game against the Philadelphia 76ers last night, Detroit center Greg Monroe had an interesting free throw adventure.Watch as Greg with only one eye open drains his first free throw attempt after getting poked:

Kyle Singler scored 16 points, and Tayshaun Prince and Brandon Knight each scored 15 points for a Detroit (1-8) team off to its worst start in franchise history. Playing their seventh road game out of nine games...
Just when we figured 76ers tickets couldn’t go any lower on StubHub, someone has lowered his/her tickets to 25¢ per seat in section 207, row 9 for tonight’s game against the lowly Pistons. That’s a .20 drop in price for tickets this week. Tickets to Monday’s game were going for 45¢ and those were four rows higher.
Sure, you get to see the hopeless 0-8 Pistons, but this...

Andre Drummond hasn’t been having the best rookie season, but he has a lot of potential. The Toronto Raptors could have definitely used him, as a tag-team of him and Jonas Valanciunas would be scary if they’re developed right in their respective rookie seasons.
The Detroit Pistons should consider starting Drummond, since he’s doing very well off...

Tweet The Orlando Magic improved to 3-5 tonight with a 110-106 victory over the Detroit Pistons. While Magic forward Glen Davis had a solid game with 17 points (8-14 FG) and 13 rebounds he was also on the wrong end of a couple of highlights by Jason Maxiell and Tayshaun Prince. The important part [...]
